The summer 2026 anime Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai aired its fourth episode, titled “Accomplice,” on July 28, 2026. Following last week’s shocking confession from Mimi, viewers were left on edge—and this episode delivered answers that only deepened the mystery.

Based on the manga by Aono Nachi serialized in Ichijinsha’s Ichijin Plus, the story is set in an orphanage that raises children as weapons for war. The protagonist, 14-year-old Totsuki Sheena, struggles to accept the brutal reality where death is commonplace. She meets Kagari Mimi, a cheerful and innocent-looking girl rumored to be the school’s “secret weapon.”

The voice cast from the 2021 and 2023 promotional videos returns: Takahashi Rie as Totsuki Sheena, Hidaka Rina as Kagari Mimi, Seto Asami as Rijii Seiran, and Ishikawa Yui as Moodo Ari.

“Mimi doesn’t die because…”

In episode 4, Mimi reveals her secret: she is already dead, so she cannot die. Sheena is confused, but Mimi innocently says that’s what the adults told her. When Sheena asks if Mimi is a ghost, Mimi pouts and gets distracted by daisies growing in a corner. Their teacher, Omi, watches from a window.

In magic history class, the topic is resurrection magic—a forbidden spell that revives the dead in exchange for the caster’s life, granting eternal life to the revived.
