Kodansha has released three new activity books based on the popular anime series Meitantei Precure! (Detective Precure!). The lineup includes a dress-up sticker play picture book, a makeup coloring picture book, and a spot-the-difference book. The newly revealed Cure Éclair / Hoba Kurea makes an appearance in all three titles.
About Meitantei Precure!
Meitantei Precure! is the 23rd installment of the Precure franchise, which began airing in February 2026. The series takes the motif of “detective” and the theme of “seeing, feeling, and thinking for yourself to find the real answer.” The story is set in 1999, where protagonist Akechi Anna is guided by a mysterious power and time-slips from the present day to 1999. With a desire to help those in trouble, she teams up with Kobayashi Mikuru, whom she meets in that era, and transforms into the detective Precure. The series depicts a new encounter, friendship, and growth across time.
Kisekae Seal Asobi Ehon (Dress-Up Sticker Play Picture Book)
This sticker picture book features reusable stickers that can be peeled off and reapplied, allowing for endless dress-up play. It includes 10 fun scenes such as “Pretty Holic,” “Cure-tantei jimusho,” a café, and a patisserie. The book features four characters: Anna, Mikuru, Ruruka, and Kurea (whose identity as Cure Éclair was revealed on July 19). Children can freely mix and match clothes and accessories to create cute outfits. It is perfect for playtime at home or a quick activity while out and about.
Make Nuri-e Ehon Kirakira Version (Makeup Coloring Picture Book Glitter Version)
This is the latest in a series of coloring books that let children enjoy pretend makeup play. It comes in a deluxe edition with glitter stickers. The book contains 24 illustration sheets, including a newly drawn sheet of Cure Éclair / Hoba Kurea. In addition to sheets of the four main Precure characters, it also includes sheets of Kuresu Eriza, Kanada Rei, and Ieiri Shiruku—who were candidates for Cure Éclair’s transformation. Special illustrations feature characters in Halloween costumes and winter fashion. After coloring, kids can add glitter accessory stickers to make their creations even more stylish.
Machigaisagashi Book (Spot-the-Difference Book)
This educational activity book lets readers enjoy the world of Meitantei Precure! while tackling 100 varied puzzles, including spot-the-difference, mazes, silhouette quizzes, and catchphrase problems. The book is designed so that children can start from any page, making it ideal for summer vacation or family time. Every page is filled with full-color cute illustrations. In addition to classic spot-the-difference puzzles, there are exciting quizzes and mazes that will keep kids engaged. By carefully comparing Precure illustrations, children can develop concentration and observation skills.
