The anime Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway (affectionately known as “MilSub”) has joined forces with BEAMS MANGART for its first-ever fashion collaboration. The collection, featuring T-shirts, a hoodie, and a tote bag, launched on July 31, 2026.
A Short Anime That Took the World by Storm
Directed by Kameyama Youhei, who spent nearly two years creating it almost single-handedly, Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway aired as a 12-episode short anime starting July 2025. Set aboard a runaway “Milky☆Subway,” the series blends sci-fi with a nostalgic visual style, natural dialogue, and a sound design that perfectly hooks viewers. It quickly became a sensation.
Even after its broadcast ended, the buzz continued. The official YouTube channel has amassed over 250 million total views, and numerous celebrities across social media and radio have publicly declared themselves MilSub fans. In February 2026, a theatrical re-edit titled Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway: Kakuekiteisha Gekijou Iki was released with new scenes.
