The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Digimon anime franchise announced a new anime project on August 1. The series is scheduled to air in 2027.
The Digimon franchise began in 1997 as a virtual pet game and later gained popularity with the 1999 anime Digimon Adventure (Digimon: Digital Monsters). Since then, the franchise has produced a total of ten television anime and 11 movies. The latest series, Digimon Beatbreak, premiered on October 5, 2025, on Fuji TV and other stations. Crunchyroll has been streaming the series as it airs, alongside an English dub.
