The TV anime Gensou Suikoden is set to begin broadcasting in October 2026 on TOKYO MX, Kansai TV, BS Asahi, and 32 other stations nationwide. A new key visual has been released, bringing together five core characters central to the story.
Gensou Suikoden is a flagship RPG series from KONAMI that began with the first game released in Japan in 1995. Each installment introduces a new setting and cast, weaving complex narratives around war with over 108 unique characters. The TV anime, directed by Satou Yuuzou and produced by KONAMI animation, adapts the second game, Gensou Suikoden II.
The story follows Riryu (CV: Kumagai Toshiki) and his best friend Jowy (CV: Tsuchiya Shinba), members of a boy soldier unit in the powerful Highland Kingdom, located in the northeastern Dunan region. They share dreams under the same stars, sleep in the same tent, and believe in the same future—but war and fate soon drag them into a vortex of destiny. The key visual now adds Nanami (CV: Hihara Ayumi), Viktor (CV: Konishi Katsuyuki), and Flik (CV: Nakamura Yuuichi), all reaching toward their hopes in a dramatic composition.
Advance Premium Screening and Visitor Gifts
From August 21, 2026, a two-week advance premium screening of episodes 1–3 will be held at 10 theaters nationwide. Attendees will receive a random “Character Quote Sticker” (one per viewing) featuring illustrations and memorable lines from one of eight characters: Riryu, Jowy, Nanami, Viktor, Flik, Look, Luca Blight, and Jill Blight. On the back of each sticker, a QR code leads to a special web page where entering a serial number unlocks an exclusive theater-only voice message from that character—ranging from thanks to playful requests like imitating a pig.
