The television anime adaptation of Jiang Jia Meizi’s manga Shouzen has been confirmed to premiere in April 2027 on Fuji TV’s B8station programming block. Alongside the announcement, the first promotional video has been released, introducing the main characters and their voice cast.
Shouzen is a manga serialized on the digital comic platform Bilibili Comics. The story follows a kind-hearted Taoist named Dounen, who encounters a young girl raised by monsters during his travels. He names her Shouzen and takes her as his disciple. The narrative traces Shouzen’s journey of personal growth as she learns about human emotions and love through her training alongside Dounen.
The first PV showcases the series’ grand, vibrant natural landscapes and introduces the key characters: Shouzen (voiced by Kawaguchi Rina), Dounen (voiced by Kamiya Hiroshi), Ryoji (voiced by Sakuma Daisuke), Kensei (voiced by Yuuki Aoi), and Chiro (voiced by Murase Ayumu).
In advance of the broadcast, the original Shouzen manga began distribution on the digital comic site RaiComi on August 5, 2026. The initial release includes chapters 1 through 20, with subsequent chapters to be added every Friday starting August 14.

Shouzen (CV: Kawaguchi Rina)
A girl raised by monsters. She is taken in as Dounen’s disciple and travels with him.
Dounen (CV: Kamiya Hiroshi)
A good-natured Taoist. He meets Shouzen during his travels and accepts her as his disciple.
Ryoji (CV: Sakuma Daisuke)
Dounen’s childhood friend. Born into an aristocratic family, he takes great pride in his own beauty, but his high pride causes him to explode in anger when mistaken for a woman.
Kensei (CV: Yuuki Aoi)
Ryoji’s disciple. Kind and intelligent, she quickly becomes close with Shouzen.
Chiro (CV: Murase Ayumu)
A strong sense of justice drives him to punish evil as he travels. He happens to meet Dounen and Shouzen on the road. He is extremely directionally challenged.
