The Haikyuu!! franchise is serving up a new way for fans to show their school pride. A collection of official hanko (name seals) featuring six schools from the series is now on sale at the FUNCO official store. The Haikyuu!! School Hanko Collection pairs a specially designed seal case with a seal engraved with the school name and school icon.
Six Schools to Choose From
Fans can pick from Karasuno High, Aoba Johsai High, Nekoma High, Shiratorizawa Academy, Fukurodani Academy, and Inarizaki High. Each set includes a seal case and a seal, both featuring the school’s name and icon.
The series itself, created by Furudate Haruichi, originally ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. It follows a group of high school boys who pour their youth into volleyball. The TV anime began in 2014, and the theatrical film Haikyuu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen was released on February 16, 2024, surpassing 20 billion yen at the worldwide box office. Looking ahead, a new film, Haikyuu!! VS Chiisana Kyojin, pitting Karasuno against Ougai High, is set for 2027, along with a special anime titled Haikyuu!! Bakemono-tachi no Iku Tokoro that will depict the battle between Fukurodani and Mujinazaka High.
Two Seal Designs
Two seal designs are available. The standard design features a simple engraving of the buyer’s surname or given name, while the volleyball design places the name inside a volleyball motif for a playful touch.
Materials and Specifications
The seals come in two materials: boxwood (tsuge), which offers a warm, natural feel that becomes more comfortable with use, and black water buffalo horn (kurosuigyu), known for its glossy black body and excellent durability. Both are genuine stamping seals that require red ink paste, balancing practicality with collectibility.
Each seal measures 12mm in diameter, a size convenient for use as a personal seal or bank seal. It can be used for receiving packages, as a substitute for a signature, or as a guardian’s seal on school documents. It can also be registered as a bank seal at most financial institutions nationwide, and the standard design can even be registered as a jitsuin (registered seal).
