Pokémon and Polaroid Launch 30th Anniversary Instant Camera Collection

Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a brand-new collaboration with Polaroid, the pioneer of instant photography. The special collection features cameras and accessories designed around Pikachu, Sylveon, and the iconic Poké Ball, with reservations opening on August 26, 2026.

Polaroid × Pokémon Special Design Series

Since the release of Pokémon Red and Green on February 27, 1996, the franchise has grown into a global phenomenon spanning games, anime, films, apps, and merchandise. To mark the 30th anniversary, Polaroid is rolling out its largest-ever Pokémon collaboration, featuring three specially designed camera models, limited-edition film with dark slides, and more—nine items in total.

Three Camera Designs

From the Polaroid Go Generation 3 series—the world’s smallest analog instant camera—come special designs for Pikachu, Sylveon, and the Poké Ball. These compact cameras are easy to carry anywhere and come equipped with a selfie mirror and powerful flash for great shots.

Special Film and Accessories

The film also gets a Pokémon makeover, with designs featuring the original starter Pokémon from Pokémon Red and Green alongside Pikachu, as well as a Pikachu and Sylveon variant. The collection also includes a camera strap, camera case, and photo album, all styled after the Poké Ball, bringing a playful Pokémon touch to Polaroid’s signature instant photography experience.

Release and Availability

The Polaroid × Pokémon Special Design Series will be released on October 6, 2026. Reservations begin at noon on August 26, 2026, via the Polaroid Japan official shop, Bic Camera.com, and Yodobashi.com. After the reservation period, the items will be available at retailers including Amazon, Edion, Camera no Kitamura, Kojima, TSUTAYA, Don Quijote, BAYCREW’S, Bic Camera, Mitsuyado Shashin-ten, Murasaki Sports, Yamada Denki, Yodobashi Camera, Loft, and more.
