Minky Momo OVA Casts Takatsuka Tomohito and Hikasa Youko

The upcoming new OVA for the beloved magical girl franchise Mahou no Princess Minky Momo has revealed two new cast members. Takatsuka Tomohito and Hikasa Youko will voice the characters Rubato and Peter, respectively, in Mahou no Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e Magokoro no Duo.

The story takes place in the dream kingdom of Dejinasa, which is sustained by dream energy. As humanity loses its dreams and hopes, the kingdom faces collapse. The king sends three companions—Chamocha, Dettabukku, and Pipirupi—to seek Minky Momo’s help. On her 12th birthday, Momo receives a smartphone and awakens as Minky Momo, vowing to save Dejinasa.

While she gathers dream energy, a mysterious app begins to spread, filled with shallow dreams driven by approval and numbers. Momo starts to question whether these are the dreams people truly wish for.

Rubato is a young man who once dreamed of becoming a pianist, while Peter is a boy who set out to find a land of children. Takatsuka is known for roles in The iDOLM@STER SideM (Watanabe Minori) and Stand My Heroes (Arakida Aoi). Hikasa has appeared in hits like K-On! (Akiyama Mio) and Jujutsu Kaisen (Ano Utaha).

Takatsuka commented, “I can’t believe I get to be part of the Minky Momo series, which is loved by so many. I hope that Rubato, whom I voice, connects with the audience and helps them find something precious.”

Hikasa said, “I’m truly happy to be involved in this newly born Minky Momo world. Before and during recording, I had many discussions with the director and sound director about the worldview and themes. I think I was able to bring my own interpretation into Peter.”

I’m truly delighted to be part of the newly born Minky Momo world as a new theatrical work. Before and during recording, I had many conversations with the director and sound director about the worldview and themes. I don’t know if I reached the depth of the director’s thoughts, but I believe I was able to put my own interpretation into Peter. I hope you can think of this work as your own alter ego. To celebrate the theatrical release, the TV series’ all 128 episodes are being streamed on King Records’ official YouTube channel starting August 10, 2026, with 13 episodes added each week.

Mahou no Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e Magokoro no Duo opens in theaters nationwide on November 13, 2026 (Friday) at Shinjuku Wald 9 and other venues.
