The unexpected casting and the chaotic nature of the CM have sparked a wave of amused and bewildered reactions on X (formerly Twitter).
On August 20, 2026, McDonald’s Japan updated its official X account with the video, accompanied by the message: “‘Love Letter Recitation to Chocolate Mint Frappe’ CV: Kawasumi Ayako, CV: Namikawa Daisuke, CV: Seki Tomokazu. *All are genuine chocolate mint fans.”
The CM presents a love letter read from the perspective of the Chocolate Mint Frappe. Kawasumi Ayako voices the frappe itself, while Namikawa Daisuke and Seki Tomokazu crash in as the letter’s senders. What initially seems like a voice-only performance quickly escalates as the two appear on screen, leading to a gloriously chaotic skit.
Given that Kawasumi, Seki, and Namikawa are best known for their roles in the anime Fate/Zero—as Saber, Gilgamesh, and Waver Velvet, respectively—fans were quick to draw parallels.
