The official Evangelion project RADIO EVA has released the second collaboration model with SEIKO, a limited edition of 400 pieces. This time, the design draws from Evangelion Unit-02.
The Evangelion franchise began with the 1995 TV series Shinseiki Evangelion, which became a social phenomenon. In 2007, the series was rebooted as the Evangelion Shin Gekijouban series under the direction of Anno Hideaki. The first three films—Jo, Ha, and Q—were huge hits, and the final film, Shin Evangelion Gekijouban, released on March 8, 2021, earned 102.8 billion yen at the box office and attracted 6.73 million viewers. The franchise continues to gain fans worldwide.
SEIKO’s diver’s watches date back to 1965, when the company produced Japan’s first diver’s watch. The 45.0mm case size has become a signature. This new collaboration model incorporates the world of Evangelion Unit-02 into that iconic diver’s watch.
The most striking feature is the second hand, which is a custom-made Longinus Spear. The deep red spear sweeping across the dial is sure to pierce the hearts of Evangelion fans.
