The upcoming film Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu (Movie Meitantei Precure! The Mysterious Garden and the Two’s Secret) is set to open in Japanese theaters on September 18, 2026. Ahead of its release, the production team has unveiled all 10 character poster visuals, a new trailer, and a how-to video for the Pochitan Miracle Light.
About Meitantei Precure!
Meitantei Precure! is the 23rd entry in the Precure series, which began airing in February. The story follows Akechi Anna (CV: Chiga Hikari) who, on her 2027 birthday, meets a fairy named Pochitan and is swallowed by a mysterious light, sending her back to 1999. There she meets Kobayashi Mikuru (CV: Hondo Kaede) and a self-proclaimed genius doctor fairy, Jet-senpai (CV: Kaji Yuuki), and decides to become a detective at the Kyatto Detective Agency. Together, they transform into Meitantei Precure to solve cases and retrieve important items from the Phantom thief group.
Character Posters
The newly released character posters feature the main Precure from Meitantei Precure!—Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, and Cure Eclair—along with the newly revealed Cure Arcana and Cure Arcana Shadow. The movie-original characters Karin and the fairies Alan and Rain also appear, as do characters from Kimi to Idol Precure♪ and Wonderful Precure! who cross over to face the “dame dame” mystery. The posters also include the supporting fairies, all in a “hanamaru kawaii” style.
Poster Quotes
Each poster includes a line from the character. Cure Answer’s straight-forward “I can’t ignore someone in trouble!” is featured, as is the team’s signature line “A detective never gives up!” now spoken by all four together. Fans will be eager to see when these lines are delivered in the film.
Trailer
The new trailer shows Anna and friends marveling at the flower-filled “Mysterious Garden,” but the garden hides a mystery related to “dame dame.” The detectives struggle as they are marked with X’s, but they never give up. In one striking moment, the fairy Alan transforms into human form to protect Karin like a knight. The trailer ends with Cure Arcana smiling, hinting at her role after her dramatic form change from Cure Arcana Shadow.
Pochitan Miracle Light
The film’s audience gift, the Pochitan Miracle Light, returns for the first time in three years. The how-to video demonstrates how to use the light to cheer along with the film’s scenes.
Special Screening
Additionally, on September 6 at 10:00 AM, a special video featuring the movie-limited power-up form will be shown on the Cross Shinjuku Vision in Tokyo and the Tsutaya Ebisubashi Hit Vision (Dotonbori) in Osaka. This one-time-only screening is a must-see for fans.
