Mushoku Tensei III Episode 10: Kshirika’s Face Acting Steals the Show, ‘Turning Point 4’ Teased

The summer anime Mushoku Tensei III: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu aired its 10th episode, “Audience with the Immortal Demon King,” on August 30 at 24:00 JST. The episode featured the Demon Emperor Kshirika Kshiris (CV: Iguchi Yuka) in full force, and fans are already praising her wildly expressive face acting.

The Search for a Cure

Rudeus and his party head to the Demon Continent to find a cure for Nanahoshi’s “Dora-in” disease. They seek out Kshirika, a central figure in the Human-Demon War from 7,000 years ago. Cliff, who had shared food with a mysterious person, discovers that person is actually Kshirika.

Cliff, now with a satisfied Kshirika, asks her to grant a wish: to learn the cure for the disease. Kshirika casually replies that drinking Sōkasu grass as tea will flush it out with excrement. The original author, Rifujin na Magonote, even tweeted about the “poop” cure, referencing Nanahoshi’s earlier complaint in episode 9 about not having nails grow or periods, which fans now see as a clever setup.

However, Kshirika explains that the place where Sōkasu grass grows has “disappeared,” but she has ordered each demon king to cultivate it in the basements of their castles. So the grass is available at Kshirika’s castle.

Encounter with the Immortal Demon King

Their joy is short-lived as they are surrounded by the “Immortal Demon King Atofe’s personal guard.” The guards are looking for Kshirika, who drank Atofe’s sake without permission. Rudeus uses magic to restrain Kshirika and hands her over. But then Rudeus is granted an audience with Atofe. Despite being warned not to accept any reward, Rudeus declines Atofe’s offer to join her guard, which enrages her. With Zanoba’s help, they manage to escape, and Cliff returns with the Sōkasu grass.

Zanoba’s Heroics and Perugius’s Arrival

As they head to the teleportation circle, Atofe intercepts them. Zanoba declares he will hold Atofe off at the cost of his life, and indeed he manages to restrain her with a bear hug while Rudeus fights off the guards. Just as things look dire, the Dragon King Perugius appears from the teleportation circle, turning the tide.

Fans are showering Zanoba with praise, calling him the MVP of the episode. Perugius’s timely arrival also drew cheers, with many noting that without him, Rudeus might have been forced into servitude.

Fan Reactions to the Battle and Demon Language

The episode featured a long-awaited battle scene, and viewers were thrilled to see high-level mages clash. The use of the demon language, with subtitles always on screen, added to the immersion, though some noted the voice actors had a tough job. Perugius’s refusal to speak demon language also sparked speculation about his relationship with Atofe.

After the ending theme, the preview revealed the title “Turning Point 4,” sending the internet into a frenzy. The “Turning Point” episodes are considered the most important in the series, and fans of the original novels are eagerly anticipating what’s to come. The hashtag trended, with many warning anime-only viewers to brace themselves. Some are also worried about Nanahoshi’s condition, wondering if the cure will truly work.

The series airs every Sunday at 24:00 on TOKYO MX and BS11, with KBS Kyoto at 24:45, Sun TV at 25:30, and AT-X on Tuesdays at 22:30. Streaming on ABEMA and dAnime Store starts simultaneously with the broadcast.
