About Rilakkuma
Korilakkuma, the charming white bear cub who mysteriously appeared, is a beloved character from San-X’s popular *Rilakkuma* series. Although not an acquaintance of Rilakkuma, the red button on Korilakkuma’s chest suggests it’s not a real bear. It was named by Kiiroitori and is known for its mischievous and energetic personality. Korilakkuma’s favorite foods include strawberries, apples, and cherries.
Currently, an anime adaptation of *Rilakkuma* by Production I.G has been announced, creating quite a buzz, especially with Ikuta Rira’s new song “stay with me” confirmed as the theme.
About Sumikko Gurashi
On the other hand, *Sumikko Gurashi* is a San-X character series based on the comforting theme, “It’s somehow calming to be in a corner.” Characters like Shirokuma, Penguin?, Tonkatsu, Neko, Tokage, and Ebi Furai no Shippo, though a little negative, boast unique personalities and a world that has captivated generations, from children to adults, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2022.
A new TV anime, *Sumikko Gurashi Koko ga Ochitsukun desu*, began airing in April 2025 within Nippon Television’s morning information program *ZIP!*. Furthermore, the fourth movie installment, *Eiga Sumikko Gurashi Sora no Oukoku to Futari no Ko* (which can be translated as “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: The Sky Kingdom and the Two Ko”), is scheduled for release on October 31st.

For Halloween 2025, Rilakkuma is diving into the “Youkai” theme with “Rilakkuma Youkai Halloween,” while Sumikko Gurashi is getting into the spirit with “Spooky Halloween,” where everyone’s body colors are a little different than usual, promising a frightfully fun time!
In the Rilakkuma Youkai Halloween collection, you’ll find charming “Te no Hira Nuigurumi” (palm-sized plushies) featuring Korilakkuma disguised as Amabie, Kiiroitori dressed as a Kappa, and more!
For the Sumikko Gurashi Spooky Halloween series, Shirokuma, Penguin?, and Ebi Furai no Shippo appear in slightly altered appearances across three delightful forms: “Te no Hira Nuigurumi,” “Burasage Nuigurumi” (hanging plushies), and “Odekake Sumikko” (take-along Sumikko plushies).
