Shuuiro no Kamen TV Anime Reveals Theme Songs, Additional Cast, and October 10 Premiere

The TV anime Shuuiro no Kamen (Vermilion Mask) is set to premiere on October 10, 2026. The second main PV and second key visual have been released, along with announcements for the theme songs by MAN WITH A MISSION and yutori, as well as a new wave of additional cast members.

Shuuiro no Kamen is a mask battle fantasy based on the manga by Nabana Naban and Dr. Poro, currently serialized in Young King AWAIRS. The protagonist, Per, is the disciple of a legendary mask craftsman. After being controlled by a powerful mask, he unintentionally kills his comrades and master. Determined to never let such a tragedy happen again, he sets out to destroy all of his master’s masks scattered around the world. Along the way, he meets trustworthy friends and engages in fierce battles against formidable enemies.

The anime will run in two consecutive cours starting October 2026, airing Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. on the YTV/NTV national network (excluding some regions). Directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe, known for Blue Lock (first season) and the “Mermaid Rhapsody” and “Prophecy no Nauta” segments of Fujimoto Tatsuki 17-26 (Prime Video), the production brings together a team of up-and-coming staff members.

Second Main PV Highlights

The second main PV depicts the “night of tragedy” that starts it all, as well as Per Darest (CV: Taito Kimura) confronting his guilt and remorse in order to atone for his past sins. Scenes show young Per crying while hammering a mask, and him shouting toward the God of War Mask: “I’m an ultra-great villain! I’ll never let a tragedy happen again! I’ll break all of my master’s masks!” The PV also features Per’s action-packed battles using various masks and abilities, including spider, chameleon, and cat masks. Key characters such as Sonalue Maywood (CV: Yuuki Yamamoto) and Moku Sharibu (CV: Kazuki Ura) also appear.

Theme Songs

The opening theme is “Firestarter” by MAN WITH A MISSION, and the ending theme is “Koe” by yutori. MAN WITH A MISSION commented: “We wanted to create a powerful song that would support the adventures of these boys burdened with a harsh fate, and we completed ‘Firestarter.’” yutori also shared their thoughts: “Even if the past cannot be erased, the way people carry it and move forward surely overlaps with our daily lives.”

Second Key Visual

The second key visual shows Per, Sonalue, and Moku with sharp gazes, while behind them are the God of War Mask—the cause of Per’s atonement—and other formidable enemies. With a striking vermilion background, the visual hints at the turbulent story surrounding the masks.

Additional Cast

The following cast members have been announced:

Hien belongs to the ruling forces of Risbran and looks up to Gouon like a father. His hatred for Per is ignited by a certain incident, and he pursues Per. Nojima commented: “Masks that hide one’s true identity—everyone likely has several masks in their heart. I thought deeply about where a mask meant to protect oneself is headed. I hope you enjoy this work.”

Rasgale is a book-loving woman with a mask that controls sound, but her personality completely changes in battle. Koga said: “It’s fresh and a challenge to be given a villain role. I’ll work hard to be an existence that can stand up to the protagonist’s team without losing to their passion!”

Clown (voiced by Yuuki Shin) is a mysterious figure who works in the shadows to collect masks. Rinne (voiced by Akihisa Wakayama) shares the ideology of the Death Mask and appears as a powerful enemy who aims to kill and control all of humanity. The Death Mask has the power to manipulate the dead and revive them as “corpses,” voiced by Aya Endo. The Master, a mysterious woman who uses the “Dream Mask,” is voiced by Yui Horie.

Kenji Nojima as Hien

“Hearing ‘mask’ reminded me of Noh and Kagura masks, which I like, and I read the script with great interest. A mask that disguises one’s appearance. Everyone surely has several masks in their heart. Akihisa Wakayama as Rinne

“I’m Akihisa Wakayama, voicing Rinne. He’s a powerful enemy who stands before Per and company alongside the Death Mask. It’s a type of role I haven’t had many chances to play, and every episode has been a challenge for me. I’ve grown attached to this character and the work. The broadcast is almost here—please enjoy!”

Aya Endo as the Death Mask

“I’m Aya Endo, voicing the Death Mask. When I first encountered it, I was taken aback by its eeriness, but I was also drawn to its presence, speech style, and indescribable atmosphere. I’m truly happy to take on a role in this position that you wouldn’t normally meet! I’m looking forward to its appearance scenes!”

Yui Horie as Master

“I’m Yui Horie, voicing Master. I’m playing a character who appears in a rather unique place in this work. The world and characters are still full of mysteries, and I want to use that ‘mysterious’ quality to the fullest.
