The summer anime Yoroi Shinden Samurai Trooper aired episode 23, “Shin,” on September 15, 2026. With the battle against the Tenkai realm now down to just Inmei, the Samurai Troopers — including the revived Gai — enter the final round against the villain in his ultimate form.

The conflict began as a fight against Sagume and her forces, who sought to destroy both the human and demon worlds. But Sagume’s true goal turned out to be protecting humanity from Ramaga and Inmei, who had been scheming within the Tenkai realm.
Gai’s True Lineage Revealed
In the midst of the battle, Gai learned that he is not Ramaga’s son. Instead, the truth is far more shocking: Yatogojin himself is his real father. Sagume, who had been bonded with Yatogojin, lost her life to Inmei just as she and Gai were finally reunited.

The True Final Boss Appears
With Inmei overwhelmed, he sacrificed himself to become the vessel for Yatogojin’s resurrection. Yatogojin then manifested as the true final boss, displaying overwhelming destructive power.
Viewers were amazed at his appearance: “So the real final boss is Yatogojin?” “He descended!” “This is his real form?”
Yatogojin revealed that the gods, fearing him, split him into four pieces that became the Four Sacred Beasts. He also sealed his own memories and transformed into a dragon. Inmei, originally a fragment of Yatogojin, revived Yatogojin’s memories and rebelled against Sagume.
White Flame Returns — and a Subtle Change
Meanwhile, the original Samurai Troopers, having completed evacuations in the human world, sent White Flame to the Tenkai realm, hoping the sacred beast could help. The reappearance of White Flame delighted longtime fans: “White Flame, where have you been?!”
However, some viewers noticed a change in Seiji: “Wait, Seiji is using ‘ore’ now?!”
Seiji, a descendant of Date Masamune, had long used the polite first-person pronoun “watashi.” His shift to “ore” felt jarring to those who remember his character development across the franchise, especially his resilience in OVA MESSAGE.
The Ten Braves Rejoin the Fight
Yatogojin revealed that the true Hajyokuō (霸皇帝) was made for him and that the current one lacks its full potential. He overpowered Gai and the others, leaving them unable to unseat him from his throne.
As Gai lost consciousness, an unexpected phenomenon occurred: a defensive barrier formed by the Ten Braves sealed inside him. The Ten Braves awakened and returned to the battlefield in physical form, joining the Samurai Troopers in a coordinated attack.
Fans were ecstatic: “All ten are here!” “The long-awaited team-up of the Samurai Troopers and Ten Braves!” “This kind of collaboration? Absolutely yes!”
The combined forces unleashed a chain of ultimate moves, causing the true Hajyokuō to awaken with a golden glow. Now facing Yatogojin at full power, the next episode is titled “Gai” — the showdown between Gai and his true father.
