Chou Kaguya-hime! Reveals VR Tsukuyomi World, 3D Models, and December Live Event

The first episode of Tsukuyomi Kanshasai INFO, a program leading up to the online event Tsukuyomi Kanshasai for the original anime film Chou Kaguya-hime!, has been released. The episode unveiled the promotional video and key visual for VR Tsukuyomi World, a recreation of the film’s virtual world Tsukuyomi in VR, along with the first-ever 3D models of Sakayori Iroha and Tsukimi Yachiyo.

The Film and Its Revival Screenings

Chou Kaguya-hime! is the first feature-length directorial work of animation creator Yamashita Seigo, known for his opening sequences on Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Urusei Yatsura. The film is currently streaming exclusively on Netflix worldwide. Beginning September 18, it will also receive revival screenings in special formats including MX4D, 4DX, SCREENX, ULTRA 4DX, and Dolby Atmos.

VR Tsukuyomi World Revealed

The Tsukuyomi Kanshasai event is a free online live that recreates the in-story virtual world Tsukuyomi as VR Tsukuyomi World, hosting performances by Kaguya and friends on the official YouTube channel and VRChat. During the info program, it was announced that the tutorial area of VR Tsukuyomi World will open early on September 25 at 0:00 on VRChat. This area includes a mini-game where players assist Yachiyo in constructing torii gates while learning basic VRChat controls.

Live Event and Merchandise

Additionally, the online live “Tsukuyomi Kanshasai ~Mechau Mama Pancake Party~” is scheduled for December 26 at 21:00, simultaneously on the official YouTube channel and VRChat, with archive streaming available afterwards. To help fans enjoy the live, new merchandise including original towels and penlights will be available for pre-order at the official store. The program also features Kaguya’s pancake fortune segment.

Further episodes of Tsukuyomi Kanshasai INFO are planned between now and December, with more updates expected.
