Spoiler warning: The following recaps episode 11 in detail.
As the year winds down, Ohno and Kobata take a break together, prompting viewers to joke they look like a grandmother and her grandson. Suddenly, a wobbly Yamada appears and collapses on the spot.

Meanwhile, Sasaki finishes his work year and heads to the supermarket for a “Yamada closing” but finds she’s not there. He tries to catch Tayama for several days without success, feeling restless. Then the store manager’s angry voice rings out…
Sasaki learns that Tayama collapsed with a fever. The manager is having trouble keeping Yamada from forcing herself to work. Some viewers also worry about the manager, noting he’s wearing a mask and asking if he’s okay.

At home, Yamada rests to recuperate. The store manager calls, but it’s actually Sasaki on the line. Yamada wonders whether he’s calling for “Yamada” or “Tayama.” When she finds the manager’s phone lists her as “Yama,” viewers laugh at the near miss.
Despite saying she’s fine, Yamada receives gentle words from Sasaki. Many fans are captivated by her flushed face and her thick thighs under a cooling patch, exclaiming “That thigh!” and “Too hot.”

Yamada had been overworking to support the store manager, who was also falling ill, and ended up collapsing herself. Feeling guilty, she says “I caused trouble” and “This is the worst.” But Sasaki’s kindness slowly opens her heart, and she shares her true feelings.
As comments like “He’s really kind” and “What a great guy” boost Sasaki’s popularity, Yamada suddenly asks, “Aren’t you going to say you want to come next year?” That line sends online excitement to the max. Fans roar with comments like “Uoooo!” “The best!” “Just date already!” “That’s a couple’s conversation!” and “It’s like middle school kids talking on the phone before bed.” Even the romance-loving store manager seems to get his energy back.

The new year arrives, and everyone spends the holidays in their own way. Yamada, who’s back at her family home, and Sasaki are still smoking as always, drawing playful complaints like “Can you even smoke at home?” and “At least refrain during Hatsumode!”

On the last day of the New Year holiday, the two finally meet. Their usual dynamic returns as Yamada teases the “unsuspecting middle-aged man,” and episode 11 ends on a warm note.

Seina Hoshiki, who voices Yamada/Tayama, shared her thoughts on X: “People who can think about troubling others are surely working hard every day.” ([Check her tweet](https://twitter.com/Hoshiki_seena/status/2100614792092504093?s=20))
In the next episode preview, an unsettling atmosphere looms with lines like “Sasaki-san, you’re banned from the store” and “Smoking with you now is no fun at all.” The final episode (Episode 12), titled “The Pair That Continues Behind the Supermarket,” is slated to air on September 24 (Thursday) at 24:26, 30 minutes later than usual.
