The official X account for Kamishiro Kyousuke and TakayaKi‘s Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Motokano datta announced on Wednesday that the light novel series will end with its 14th volume. The final volume is scheduled to release on December 1.
Kamishiro Kyousuke began the romantic comedy, also known by its short title TsureKano, on the Kakuyomu website in August 2017. Kadokawa started printing the series through its Sneaker Bunko imprint in December 2018, with illustrations by TakayaKi. The 13th volume shipped in October 2025.
Manga adaptation and English releases
Kusakabe Rei began drawing the manga adaptation on Niconico Seiga’s Dra-Dra Sharp# web manga portal in May 2019. Kadokawa shipped the 11th volume on May 8. ComicWalker also posts the manga simultaneously.
J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English in November 2021. The 13th volume of the English release went on sale on May 26. Udon Entertainment licensed the manga in English in July 2023. The third manga volume shipped on August 18, and the fourth is scheduled for December 8.
Awards and anime
TsureKano won the 3rd Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest under the Romantic Comedy category in 2018 and placed 7th and 5th in the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings, respectively.
Project No.9 produced a 12-episode anime adaptation that aired in Summer 2022. Crunchyroll simulcast the series with subtitles.
