The final episode of Liar Game has brought news that the anime is getting a second season. The announcement came on Tuesday after the 26th episode, and animation character designer Tsuchiya Kei drew an illustration to mark the occasion.
Madhouse Production and Streaming
Madhouse produced the television anime adaptation of Kaitani Shinobu‘s psychological thriller manga. The series aired for 26 episodes, beginning on April 7. Crunchyroll simulcast the show with subtitles and an English dub.
Manga Background
Kaitani serialized the psychological suspense manga in Young Jump from February 2005 to January 2015. Shueisha published the 19th and final volume in April 2015.
Shueisha also released the anthology manga Liar Game: Roots of A from September 1999 to January 2004, along with a one-shot sequel in February 2010. The sequel manga Liar Game: The Last Game ran from February 25 to July 22. Shueisha will collect its chapters as the 20th volume on October 19.
