The autumn anime Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 WORLD CUP Kessen Member Ketteisen has revealed the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 1, ‘Nihon Daihyou: Tsuginaru Tatakai’ (Japan’s Representatives: The Next Battle). The episode is set to begin airing on September 30, 2026 (Wednesday).
The original Tennis no Oujisama manga by Konomi Takeshi ran in Weekly Shonen Jump, and its TV anime began airing on TV Tokyo affiliates in October 2001. From 2012, Shin Tennis no Oujisama was serialized in Jump SQ. and concluded in August 2026; its TV anime adaptation has expanded the story from the Kanto tournament to the national tournament and then to the world stage. In 2024, Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 WORLD CUP SEMIFINAL aired, depicting a heated battle between the Japan and Germany representatives.
As the third installment of the U-17 WORLD CUP series, Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 WORLD CUP Kessen Member Ketteisen follows Ryoma and the Japan representatives after fierce battles have finally brought them within reach of the world summit. Coach Mifune decides to hold a ‘Kessen Member Ketteisen’ (final member decisive match) for the right to play. The teammates who have fought together until now will clash with their pride and passion on the line.
Episode 1 Story
The Japan representatives have defeated world No. 1 powerhouse Germany and advanced to the U-17 World Cup final. However, Japan’s great pillars Byoudouin and Oni are in a situation where appearing in the final is hopeless due to injuries sustained in the Germany match. With the final against Spain only two days away, Coach Mifune makes a major decision.
He decides to hold a ‘Kessen Member Ketteisen’ within the Japan representatives. The players will compete in S1 (Singles One), S2 (Singles Two), S3 (Singles Three), D1 (Doubles One), and D2 (Doubles Two) blocks, and those who survive will earn a place in the final.
