The 12th collected volume of Futsuu no Keionbu, the Shonen Jump+ manga written by Kuwahari and drawn by Deuchi Tetsuo, goes on sale Friday, October 2, 2026. Its obi — the promotional band wrapped around the cover — features a newly drawn illustration by Jujutsu Kaisen creator Akutami Gege. The subject is Koyama Rin, the bassist in the series.

Futsuu no Keionbu follows Hatono Chihiro, a new high school first-year who loves somewhat mature Japanese rock. She throws herself into band life and high school, struggling and growing along the way in an ultra-relatable, all-out youth drama.
Volume 12 also includes bonus content available only in the collected edition. It features bonus manga, a look at the evolution of the character designs, family commentary for the members of Heartbreak, and behind-the-scenes production stories.

The obi goes beyond a standard recommendation. Akutami Gege’s original illustration is paired with a comment, and the message takes the form of a back-and-forth dialogue between Akutami and Koyama Rin. It is a playful exchange that shows Akutami’s sense of fun, making the obi a notable addition for fans.
