The TV anime Kagurabachi, scheduled to begin airing in April 2027, has unveiled the character visual and character PV for Azami Soushirou. Nakamura Yuuichi has been confirmed as his voice actor, and a comment from Nakamura has also arrived.
Kagurabachi: A Sword-Fighting Battle Action Series
Kagurabachi is based on Hokazono Takeru’s manga, which has surpassed 4 million cumulative copies, including digital editions, and is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The anime is directed by Takeuchi Tetsuya, with animation production by Cypic.
The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a boy who dreams of becoming a swordsmith, and his father Kunishige Rokuhira, a renowned swordsmith. Their days full of laughter are brutally cut apart when the mysterious sorcerer organization Hishaku attacks. Six Enchanted Blades with power great enough to decide the fate of the nation are taken, along with the gentle, warm everyday life they shared on that day. Left in a world swirling with darkness, Chihiro takes up Enten, the seventh Enchanted Blade left behind by his father, and begins a blood-soaked path of revenge.

Azami Soushirou Joins the Story
Azami Soushirou is a sorcerer belonging to the sorcerer organization Kamunabi. He is one of the few people who know of Chihiro’s existence, which has been concealed from the world. With physical strength that lets him overwhelm opponents with overwhelming striking power, he is one of the standout fighters within Kamunabi.

Nakamura said he approached the recording with the understanding that Azami is serious while also carrying a slightly dry quality. When he got the role, he revealed that he was so curious about what would happen next that he read every existing volume. He added that he is greatly looking forward to seeing that scene and this scene depicted in the anime.
On Azami’s appeal, Nakamura described him as a realist who contrasts with the romanticist Shiba. He has compassion, but there is something slightly detached about him, which is interesting. I think he is a character whose appeal will grow more and more as the story develops, he said.
