Fall 2026 anime season is here, with more than 70 titles lined up. Among them, Black Clover 2nd Season stands out as a long-awaited return.
Black Clover 2nd Season: A Five-and-a-Half-Year Wait Ends
Based on Tabata Yuuki’s manga, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and Jump GIGA from February 2015 to May 2026, the series has surpassed 25 million copies in circulation worldwide. The first TV anime season ranked No. 1 in viewing in 87 countries and regions, and the film Black Clover: Mahoutei no Ken reached No. 2 on Netflix’s weekly global TOP 10. The 2nd Season adapts the Spade Kingdom Arc, beginning with the original manga’s 28th volume, chapter 271.
The first season aired from 2017 to 2021 for 170 episodes, covering up to volume 27, chapter 270. Now, after the manga’s conclusion, the story resumes. Original author Tabata Yuuki commented, starting with "I’m sorry to keep you waiting!!!!"
The 2nd Season depicts the Spade Kingdom Arc, one of the series’ most popular episodes. It opens with a desperate battle against the Dark Triad, who wield the power of underworld devils, as even Magic Knight captains fall without resistance. The arc also introduces new forms such as Asta’s Devil Union and Yuno’s Spirit Dive, promising many high-stakes battle scenes.
With quality surpassing both the first season and the film, the "limit-breaking magic battle" goes beyond the royal road.
Story
In a world where magic is everything, Asta is the only boy without magical power. What he gains is Anti Magic, which cancels all magic. The Spade Kingdom’s ruler, the Dark Triad, begins to ravage the world with the power of underworld devils. The invasion gains momentum, and Queen Lolopechka of the Heart Kingdom is taken, while Magic Knight captains Yami and Vangeance are abducted in the Clover Kingdom.
Even Magic Knight captains cannot resist, and the last hope falls. Yet some continue to stand: to take back everything, save their comrades, and fulfill a promise with a rival. As the only existence outside the logic of magic, Asta steps into the taboo of obtaining the "true devil’s power."

Director Tanemura Ayataka returns from the film, and Studio Pierrot continues animation production from the first season.

Opening theme: WANIMA "Kienai Riyuu". Ending theme: ONE OR EIGHT "Yellow Brick Road". ONE OR EIGHT is an eight-member global boy group from Japan. Member MIZUKI commented that he has been a reader since the start of the serialization, expressing his attachment to the work.

Broadcast begins October 3, 2026 (Sat) at 23:00 on TV Tokyo affiliates and others. BS TV Tokyo will air it on October 7 (Wed) at 24:00.
