The world of Chiikawa is getting its own Christmas market. The “Chiikawa Christmas Market” has been confirmed for Toyosuna Park in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, opening on Tuesday, November 24, 2026.
About Chiikawa
Chiikawa is a manga by illustrator Nagano that began on X (formerly Twitter). Since serialization started in 2020, the story of Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, and other distinctive characters living out fun, bittersweet, and slightly harsh days has captivated readers.
The anime adaptation premiered in 2022, and its catch-up streams on YouTube have surpassed 500 million total views. The franchise’s first theatrical film, Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu, which adapts the long-form “Siren Arc” episode, is currently in theaters, and its box office revenue had reached 17.17 billion yen as of October 4.
This winter, the market will offer a special Christmas experience that can only be found here, including sparkling illuminations and production effects that make it seem as though snow is falling.
A Christmas Experience to Step Into
At the venue entrance, visitors are greeted by an oversized pop-up-style Christmas card and a wreath-shaped welcome gate modeled on Chiikawa. The space is designed as a warm “experience” where guests feel as though they are joining Chiikawa and friends at a Christmas party.
Giant Tree and Photo Spots
At the center of the venue stands a giant Christmas tree about 6 meters tall. An original story in which Chiikawa and friends prepare for Christmas unfolds as a special presentation combining light, video, and sound.
Beyond the symbolic tree, the venue offers Christmas-themed photo spots, including giant balloons of Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi standing about 3 meters tall, a snow dome, and a moving merry-go-round depicting the characters enjoying themselves. Visitors can capture memories of the “Chiikawa Christmas Market” at locations throughout the grounds. The merry-go-round is a photo spot intended for viewing and photography.
Food Market
The food market features Christmas huts in the style of a traditional Christmas market, selling limited original food, desserts, and drinks inspired by the world of Chiikawa.
The lineup spans 35 items, including “Torokeru Cream no Hot Cocoa,” “Toubatsu Churros,” “Hachiware no Christmas Wreath Donut,” and “Usagi no Pistachio Mont Blanc,” all as enjoyable to look at as they are to eat. Guests can warm both body and spirit with the food on offer at the winter venue.
Limited Goods and Hands-On Activities
In a dedicated goods area, the market will sell limited original merchandise that lets visitors take home a memory of the “Chiikawa Christmas Market.” Items include mascots styled for a Santa mood, plush toys, snow domes, and a moving Christmas card set, giving fans plenty of ways to enjoy the holiday season alongside Chiikawa and friends.
The venue will also host the “Yoroi-san Market,” where visitors combine parts of their choosing to make an original keychain. Participatory content for children and adults alike includes “Candy Wanage,” in which players toss candy to decorate a tree, and the “Cookie Weighing Challenge,” which asks participants to fill a container with cookies to match a designated weight.
Tickets and Novelties
Tickets are planned to be sold with designated dates and time slots. Those who purchase a ticket will receive a “Tobidasu! Christmas Card” as a gift.
In addition, visitors can spin the giant gachapon machine set up inside the venue once for free, receiving one random ornament from a total of 16 varieties.
The event runs through Friday, December 25, 2026. This special Christmas event can only be enjoyed during this season, so don’t miss it.
