Soukou Kihei Votoms: Haiiro no Majo (Hexe), a completely new entry in the Soukou Kihei Votoms series and a Sunrise 50th anniversary project, will open nationwide in Japan on November 20, 2026. The first film has its release date set, while the second film’s date will be announced later.
New information has been revealed for the film’s mecha, including protagonist Ash’s Scopedog, the large AT Rising Beetle, and the enemy Blocker, along with additional scene photos.

The film is directed by Oshii Mamoru, the animated film director known for Ghost in the Shell / Koukaku Kidoutai. It presents a new story in the landmark battlefield robot anime series Soukou Kihei Votoms.
Soukou Kihei Votoms began as a TV series in 1983, and its world has continued to inspire sequel animations, plastic models, and more for over 40 years. The TV series was set after the end of the Hundred Years War in the Astragius Galaxy. This film takes place at the end of that war and follows soldiers who pilot humanoid weapons called Scopedogs, known as AT (Armored Troopers), while their lives are treated as expendable.
Two women drive the story: Ash, a soldier feared as a witch and voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki, and Maki, a female officer of an independent propaganda unit who pursues the mystery around her, voiced by Andou Mabuki. Their meeting leads to a fight for survival on a merciless battlefield in what is described as an ultimate action epic.
Mecha details
The designs for several machines have been revealed.

Scopedog ATM-09-VC: the machine piloted by protagonist Ash.

Rising Beetle ATH-06-VC: a large AT.

Blocker B·ATM-02-V: an enemy AT belonging to the Balarant army.
New scene photos
New scene photos feature Ash Vamps, Maki Stauffenberg, and other characters from the film. Maki in a pilot suit is shown for the first time.
