San-X’s Sumikko Gurashi will release a new batch of merchandise built around the theme “Sumikko na Mainichi” in early November 2026. The lineup captures the characters’ everyday moments in a soft, drawing-style touch, with stationery and lifestyle goods that show the Sumikko in a wide range of poses.
A Gentle Drawing Style for Everyday Moments
Born from the keyword “koko ga ochitsukundesu” (this is where I feel calm), Sumikko Gurashi features Shirokuma, Penguin?, Tonkatsu, Neko, Tokage, Ebi Furai no Shippo and other characters who are a little negative but full of personality. The franchise has inspired the TV anime Sumikko Gurashi Koko ga Ochitsukundesu, and four films have been released so far, with a fifth film confirmed for 2027.
As the first part of the Sumikko Gurashi 15th anniversary event, the 2021 film Eiga Sumikko Gurashi Aoi Tsukiyo no Mahou no Ko will also return to theaters for a limited run starting October 31.
The “Sumikko na Mainichi” theme sketches out the small, quiet parts of the day — dancing, eating a meal, sleeping, spending time with the Minikko, and settling down a little deeper in the corner. The result is a warm, soothing moment designed to be more than simply cute, with a look that adults can comfortably carry as well.
The collection packs in poses unique to this theme, and stationery forms a large part of the lineup.
