The December 2026 issue of the shoujo manga magazine LaLa is now on sale, and it bundles a Nyanko-sensei desktop calendar for 2027 themed around Natsume Yuujinchou. The issue went on sale on October 23, 2026.
Natsume Yuujinchou and the 2027 Nyanko-sensei calendar
Natsume Yuujinchou is Midorikawa Yuki’s manga serialized in Monthly LaLa. It follows Natsume Takashi, a lonely boy who can see yokai. After he inherits the Yuujinchou left by his grandmother Reiko, a woman with powerful yokai abilities, he becomes a target for yokai. Together with the self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei, he navigates the contracts Reiko made with yokai in this ayakashi contract tale.
The TV anime began with its first season in 2008 and has run through six seasons. Kamiya Hiroshi voices Natsume Takashi, while Inoue Kazuhiko voices Nyanko-sensei. A feature film with the series’ first full-length original story opened in September 2018, and in January 2021 two popular short episodes were screened theatrically for a limited run. The seventh season, Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi, aired from October 7, 2024.
The LaLa December issue’s bonus is Nyanko-sensei Desktop Calendar 2027 Natsume Yuujinchou by Midorikawa Yuki. It features a Japanese modern design and lets fans spend the year with Nyanko-sensei in a variety of expressions.
