Fans of the hit TV anime `Kaijuu 8-gou` are in for a treat! A special POP UP SHOP, offering an exclusive sneak peek and pre-sales of brand-new merchandise, is set to open its doors at “PickUp Ranking Shibuya Chikamichi” starting October 24, 2025. This limited-time event will also feature special purchase bonuses, making it a must-visit for any `Kaijuu 8-gou` enthusiast.
The `Kaijuu 8-gou` manga, penned by Matsumoto Naoya, began its serialization in Shueisha’s “Shounen Jump+” manga app in July 2020. The story unfolds in a world where colossal `kaijuu` regularly threaten humanity. It follows Hibino Kafka, who joins the “Nihon Boueitai” (Japan Defense Force) to exterminate these `kaijuu`. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious small `kaijuu` transforms him into a powerful `kaijuu` himself, earning him the moniker “Kaijuu 8-gou.” Despite being pursued across Japan, Kafka refuses to abandon his dream of becoming a Defense Force member and valiantly stands against `kaijuu` disasters.
In 2021, it was selected as the #1 Web Manga in the “Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishou 2021” (Next Manga Award 2021), leading to an explosive surge in its popularity. The first season of the TV anime adaptation aired from April 2024, and the second season premiered on July 19, 2025, the day after the manga’s conclusion.

Get ready to see your favorite `Kaijuu 8-gou` characters – Hibino Kafka, Shinomiya Kikoru, Hoshina Soushiro, Ichikawa Reno, Narumi Gen, and Ashiro Mina – gather at the POP UP SHOP in Shibuya, Tokyo. This time, they’re stepping away from their intense battles with `kaijuu` to showcase a more relaxed side, all while sporting charming Halloween costumes. For instance, Hoshina Soushiro will be dressed as a dashing Dracula, while Narumi Gen transforms into a cool werewolf!
Exclusive “Newly Drawn Halloween ver.” Merchandise
A wide array of new merchandise featuring the “Newly Drawn Halloween ver.” illustrations will also be available. The trading goods collection includes five exciting items:

The “`Kaijuu 8-gou` POP UP SHOP in PickUp Ranking Shibuya Chikamichi” will run from October 24 to November 3, 2025. During this period, for every 2,000 yen (tax included) spent on eligible products, customers will receive one of 13 random “Venue-Exclusive Bonus Postcards.”
