Namikawa Goes Full Boke Mode! A String of Funny Answers in the “Spring 4-Subject Academic Test”

This episode featured the segment titled “Taking on the Spring 4-Subject Academic Test!” starting with the “You Should Know This!? Yoasobi-Style Academic Test.” This challenge focused on material typically learned in the fourth grade of elementary school – topics that adults might surprisingly find themselves forgetting.

Yashiro Taku, who has actually been studying with the goal of obtaining an elementary school teaching license, and Namikawa Daisuke, who has previous experience working as a private tutor, both took the test before the broadcast. They were brimming with confidence, each asserting, “We’re sure to get every answer right!”

The first subject was Japanese Language. The question asked for the name of the author of the famous story “Gon Kitsune.” When it came to the all-important author’s name, Namikawa wrote “Oyagitsune” (Parent Fox), while Yashiro wrote “Hito” (Person). Seeing their answers went in such similarly unexpected directions, the two couldn’t help but exchange glances and burst into laughter.

Next up was Math. Yashiro revealed that he grew up in a science-oriented family, even jokingly stating that his “older sister is Super Math Man.” During a fraction calculation problem, Yashiro showcased a truly brilliant flash of insight, prompting Namikawa to react with astonishment, declaring, “You’ve surpassed Einstein!”

For Science, they were shown a picture of a “Hyakuyohako” (weather box) and asked to identify its name. However, Namikawa answered “Hachi no Kaigou” (Bee Meeting) and Yashiro answered “Torigo-ya” (Birdhouse), unexpectedly launching into a battle of comedic misinterpretations (boke). The series of hilarious answers had the entire studio roaring with laughter.

The Social Studies question asked, “What is the prefecture with the second largest area in Japan?” In a truly surprising moment, Yashiro, who hails from Iwate prefecture, got the answer wrong, causing him to slump his shoulders and lament, “It’s been a while since I’ve felt this kind of frustration.” With a continuous stream of funny answers and Namikawa’s unrestrained comedic antics (boke) also going off, the segment was packed with laughter until the very end.

Testing Their Bond with the “Which One Is Taku’s?” Quiz

The Eight-Choice Quiz.” This game involves guessing co-host Yashiro’s answer out of eight possible options. Namikawa, who confidently proclaimed he knows everything about Yashiro, took on the challenge of identifying the portrait of Namikawa that was drawn by Yashiro himself.
