Japanese BL Content Shines at BOOK EXPO THAILAND 2025, Partnering with FLIXER
Japanese Boys’ Love (BL) works, available on the specialized digital e-book service “La Roseraie,” made a spectacular debut at the “FLIXER” booth during Thailand’s largest book fair, “BOOK EXPO THAILAND 2025,” held on October 10, 2025. The event drew an incredible 1.4 million visitors, and the FLIXER booth buzzed with excitement as people eagerly explored Japanese BL titles, translated into Thai and accessible through the FLIXER app.

Exciting Talk Event Highlights FLIXER’s Vision
A dynamic talk event was held at the expo, featuring an esteemed panel. Ekkachai Charoenphattanamongkon-shi, CEO of FLIXER, was joined by Horinouchi Hayato-shi, producer of La Roseraie and president of Futami Shobo, along with special guest, actor and artist James Su-shi.

Ekkachai CEO shared FLIXER’s ambitious vision, stating, “FLIXER aims to be the ‘home base for anime fans,’ a one-stop destination where you can enjoy both anime and manga seamlessly. We provide a fluid experience, allowing users to transition from watching anime to reading manga without ever having to switch apps.”

This year, FLIXER is dedicated to strengthening its core platform by enhancing its offerings in BL (Boys’ Love) and GL (Girls’ Love) content, recognizing their clear market growth and significant global trend. The audience for these genres continues to expand year by year, and in Thailand, there’s a growing demand for high-quality, previously unreleased content. FLIXER aims to become a pioneer in this market by fulfilling these burgeoning needs.

La Roseraie’s Strategy: Bringing Japanese BL to Thailand
Horinouchi Hayato-shi, producer of La Roseraie, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Futami Shobo produces La Roseraie, a website dedicated to BL. We see this as a valuable opportunity to understand how Japanese BL works will be received as digital e-books in Thailand, a country recognized as a leading nation in BL content.”

He further elaborated, “By entering the Thai digital market through FLIXER, we can now deliver our works simultaneously with their Japanese release, piece by piece, as digital distributions, rather than making fans wait for the tankobon (collected volume) release. Leveraging this speed, we aim to quickly deliver trending titles, hoping to generate excitement in both Japan and Thailand. This could even lead to further developments, such as live-action drama adaptations in Thailand. As a prime example, ‘Jujin Ou no Otetsuki ga Migomorimashite,’ a popular BL novel that topped rankings for five consecutive weeks late last year, was ultra-speedily adapted into a comic and simultaneously released piece by piece in both Japan and Thailand.”
Currently, FLIXER exclusively distributes 16 popular BL titles from Futami Shobo, including 11 comics and 5 novels. This impressive lineup features highly popular works in Japan such as “Shini Modori no Omega Kishi to Butouha Osananajimi wa Kudaranai Unmei wo Kechirashitai” (It can be translated as “The Reincarnated Omega Knight and His Fighter Childhood Friend Want to Kick Away the Stupid Fate”) and “Kekkon Shitara Umi no Soba ni Sumou ne” (It can be translated as “Let’s Live by the Sea When We Get Married”).
Actor James Su-shi Shares His FLIXER Experience

Special guest actor James Su-shi, who took the stage at the talk event, shared his impressions after experiencing the FLIXER app. “It’s incredibly easy to use and comfortable to watch anywhere. I particularly enjoy romantic comedy and fantasy works, and I find myself deeply empathetic to the characters,” he commented. The venue was filled with constant smiles and applause, and James Su-shi called out to his fans, “Please enjoy FLIXER together with me!”
Future Outlook: Expanding Japanese Content in Thailand

Horinouchi Hayato-shi expressed his strong aspirations, stating, “Within Japan, La Roseraie will continue to develop as a digital distribution and sales site for BL works, and we trust FLIXER-sama to take on that role in Thailand. Thailand has a mature market for the BL genre, and I believe that once the content is available, its appeal will surely be recognized.” He also touched upon future developments, adding, “Futami Shobo publishes a wide range of content beyond BL, including adult-oriented works, novels and manga for boys and girls, and even occult content. If the opportunity arises, we would like to challenge these genres in the Thai market as well.” The growing excitement surrounding Japanese BL and other Japanese-origin content in Thailand is definitely something to keep an eye on!
