Get ready for a new dark fantasy adventure! The TV anime adaptation of “Omae Gotoki ga Maou ni Kateru to Omouna” to Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou Saretanode, Outo de Kimama ni Kurashitai” (which can be translated as “You Who Are Worthless Cannot Defeat the Demon King,” So I Was Banished From the Hero’s Party and Decided to Live a Carefree Life in the Royal Capital), affectionately known as Omagoto, is officially set to premiere in January 2026. Alongside this exciting announcement, fans were treated to a brand-new main visual and a captivating main promotional video!
But that’s not all! The cast is expanding with the addition of Machico, Morita Seiichi, and Inoue Honoka to the already stellar lineup. Plus, the legendary Inoue Kikuko will be gracing the series with her narration, promising an immersive storytelling experience.
Based on the popular light novel series by kiki, published under GC Novels, Omagoto is a gripping dark fantasy tale that has also received a manga adaptation by Minamikata Jun. The story centers around Furamu Apricot, a protagonist who, despite having seemingly zero abilities, is chosen by a divine oracle to join the Hero’s party. However, her journey takes a dramatic turn when she is cruelly cast out.
Alone and facing despair, Furamu discovers her one unique, mysterious skill: “Inversion.” This power allows her to turn dire situations—and even her entire life—around. It’s a journey of overcoming adversity and finding a new path to a carefree life in the royal capital, far from the expectations of the hero’s party.
The TV anime is helmed by director Kamanaka Nobuharu, with animation production by A.C.G.T. The cast features Nanase Ayaka as the protagonist Furamu Apricot, and Itou Miku as Mirukitto, whom Furamu meets at a slave merchant’s place.
The newly unveiled main PV kicks off with a poignant line from Mirukitto, “Why did you take me out of there?” This is immediately followed by Furamu’s heartfelt response, “If I can make Mirukitto happy, maybe I’ll find a reason to be alive too.” These lines offer a glimpse into the deep and evolving relationship between the two main characters, hinting at the emotional core of the series. The trailer also introduces Seera Anbiren, one of the recently announced additional characters, with Machico’s voice making its grand debut, perfectly capturing Seera’s essence.
In the latter half of the video, intense combat scenes from the series unfold. PassCode’s opening theme, “Liberator,” plays, offering a sneak peek before its broadcast. Packed with more insights into the world and intriguing scenes than the previous teaser, this PV certainly builds immense anticipation for the January premiere!
Adding more depth to the narrative, three new characters and their respective voice actors have been announced. Machico will lend her voice to Seera Anbiren, a kind nun from the Origin Church. Morita Seiichi takes on the role of Dein Finiaasu, an A-rank adventurer from the West District, while Inoue Honoka will portray Iira Jerishin, the welcoming receptionist at the West District Adventurers Guild. And, as mentioned, the venerable Inoue Kikuko will be guiding us through the story with her narration. Machico has also provided a comment.
The theme songs have also been revealed! The energetic opening theme will be “Liberator” by PassCode, while the heartfelt ending theme will be “I need” by Tanaka Yuki. Both artists have shared their excitement and thoughts on being part of the Omagoto experience.
With so many exciting details dropping, the countdown to the January 2026 premiere of “Omae Gotoki ga Maou ni Kateru to Omouna” to Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou Saretanode, Outo de Kimama ni Kurashitai” has truly begun. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to its broadcast!

Machico as Seera Anbiren
Q1. What was your impression of this work?
My first impression was, “Whoa, such despair right from the start…?!” Each character has their own burdens and struggles, surrounded by unique environments. You’ll definitely find yourself engrossed in how these girls confront their challenges. Furamu-chan and Mirukitto-chan’s pasts are intense, and seeing them support each other warmed my heart and even made me blush sometimes. The huge contrast with the daily life scenes is incredibly charming, and I’ve become addicted to this emotional temperature difference!
Q2. What are your impressions of the character you play, and what is your enthusiasm for portraying her?
Seera-chan, whom I play, is like a beacon of light. Amidst all the despairing descriptions, she serves as a spiritual anchor, a comforting presence. However, she’s not just bright; she’s also experienced various negative things… she’s a character that can’t be summed up in a single word. She’s a girl with a lot of love, and she’s deeply loved in return. Please look forward to the active participation of her straightforward heart!

Q1. What was your impression of this work?
Wanting to protect someone precious, and in doing so, finding one’s own “reason to live”—Furamu and Mirukitto’s journey feels like it embodies the preciousness of “living” itself. It’s incredibly beautiful and heartwarming. Watching their steps, you realize that the feeling of caring for someone can become a “light” that overcomes any darkness. We hope this story becomes a light for you too.
Q2. What is your enthusiasm for performing the theme song?
Among PassCode’s songs, this one has a very aggressive start, so we’re a little nervous for the original fans to hear it, but we believe it turned out to be a song fitting for the story. There are many parts in the lyrics that evoke Furamu, and we think your feelings towards the song might change as the story progresses. We would be delighted if it becomes a song that can walk alongside Furamu. May the time spent together become “proof of living”—please do listen to the full version!

Q1. What was your impression of this work?
I found myself holding my breath, watching Furamu-chan and her companions stand up and face forward despite being hurt, all to protect someone precious! There were moments where my heart ached seeing them get battered, and I wanted to look away, but the more I read, the deeper the mystery became, and I was progressively drawn into the unpredictable twists and turns!
Q2. What is your enthusiasm for performing the theme song?
I felt that this work, starting with Furamu-chan and Mirukitto-chan, strongly conveys “feelings of mutual affection.” Amidst the many trials they face, I can’t help but root for them as they bravely fight and survive while thinking of their irreplaceable companions. I will sing with the hope that a carefree life and a future filled with smiles await them beyond their struggles!
