ABEMA’s Anime LIVE channel recently broadcast Seiyuu to Yoasobi Tsunagu [Kaneda Tomoko x Sobii x Taniyama Kishou] for the week of May 12th (Monday).

This season of Seiyuu to Yoasobi Tsunagu features a monthly MC for a special Connect Week broadcast held once a month. The first commemorative Connect Week for the season took place in the week of May 12th, with Taniyama Kishou serving as the monthly MC.

During the broadcasts from Monday to Friday, the theme was “Let’s Connect Through Bar Hopping!” where they engaged in deep conversations while enjoying drinks. Furthermore, the live broadcast on May 18th (Sunday) featured Taniyama Kishou’s juniors from his agency, Katsu Anri, Hayashi Yuu, and Fukunishi Shoya, as guests.

With voice actors from Ken Production, affectionately known as “Ken Pro,” gathered together, the program was full of excitement with segments like “If Ken Pro Were Likened to OO?” and “Stories You Can’t Say in Front of Taniyama Kishou.”

The live broadcast on May 18th (Sunday) brought together Ken Pro voice actors, including the monthly MC Taniyama Kishou, along with guests Katsu Anri, Hayashi Yuu, and Fukunishi Shoya. They shared stories about Taniyama Kishou’s embarrassing rookie days and why each of the four chose Ken Pro. Kaneda Tomoko also revealed an unexpected connection she had with the president of Ken Production. The program started with lively conversation and laughter.

Guests on the show floor, Taniyama Kishou in separate studio

One of the main segments of this broadcast was titled “Stories You Can’t Say in Front of Taniyama Kishou.” To uncover unknown aspects of Taniyama Kishou, the three juniors shared stories about their senior from the agency that they wouldn’t normally say in front of him. Taniyama Kishou was in a separate studio, monitoring the conversation. He had a stop button he could press to interrupt the talk if he felt the need to “say something!”

As the corner began, the three immediately started sharing adorable anecdotes about Taniyama Kishou. First, Fukunishi Shoya spoke about Taniyama Kishou’s thoughtfulness towards his juniors, explaining that even though he’s shy, he makes an effort to interact with them. “Even though he’s shy, he tries hard beyond his capacity to connect with us…! From a junior’s perspective, he’s dependable, and that part of him is truly cute and endearing,” Fukunishi Shoya enthused. “The charm of Kishou-san lies beyond that shyness!”

Then, Katsu Anri, who has known Taniyama Kishou for over 20 years, added, “Even though he’s shy, he wants to interact with people. He’s shy, but he likes people.” This revelation challenged Taniyama Kishou’s typically wild image, prompting him to immediately hit the stop button. “You fools! I’m a brute!” he exclaimed, trying to assert his wild persona, which filled the studio with laughter.

Next, Hayashi Yuu shared a moment that made him feel affection for Taniyama Kishou. He revealed that Taniyama Kishou is afraid of flying and would shrink down, keeping his feet firmly together during landing. Seeing his senior so timid was a “kyun” (heart-squeezing) moment for Hayashi Yuu, which made Taniyama Kishou blush profusely.

Besides these stories, they also recounted how Taniyama Kishou’s kindness helped Hayashi Yuu when he was feeling down, and Katsu Anri shared instances of Taniyama Kishou’s bashful side. As Taniyama Kishou’s true face was gradually revealed, Kaneda Tomoko became incredibly excited, exclaiming, “Really?! Oh, how cute! His cool image makes the gap irresistible!”

When the segment concluded, Taniyama Kishou reappeared in the studio, saying sheepishly, “Hello everyone, I’m the gap moe guy. I’m made entirely of gap,” which brought even more laughter to the studio.

Throughout the broadcast, another segment titled “If Ken Pro Were Likened to OO?” was also held, where they compared Ken Production’s standing in the voice acting industry to various things. Ken Production is often seen by the industry as a group of “individualistic people” and having an “at-home” atmosphere. For topics like “If likened to a snack?” or “If likened to a musical instrument?”, the four offered some unique and humorous answers.

During the bizarre topic “If likened to body hair?”, Kaneda Tomoko’s unexpected answer was actually adopted. The discussion about their agency was filled with roaring laughter, creating a great buzz in the studio.

From Monday to Friday, Kaneda Tomoko, Sobii, and Taniyama Kishou engaged in deep conversations during the “Let’s Connect Through Bar Hopping!” segment. Having only co-starred once before and only truly interacted extensively at the “Yoasobi Year-End Party,” this bar-hopping talk was realized at Kaneda Tomoko’s request, as she “really wanted to talk with Kishou-san at length.”

However, as the alcohol flowed, Kaneda Tomoko became even more wild than usual, leaving Taniyama Kishou flustered at times. Reflecting on the experience during the opening of the live broadcast, Taniyama Kishou remarked, “I had a terrible time! I was scared to watch the broadcast!” Seiyuu to Yoasobi Tsunagu [Kaneda Tomoko x Sobii x Taniyama Kishou] is available for streaming on ABEMA.

It was also announced that the next Connect Week will take place in the week of June 9th, with TakahaChiaki serving as the monthly MC. Kaneda Tomoko and TakahaChiaki have a strong connection, having been seniors and juniors at the same agency previously. What kind of “Yoasobi” will they create?
