Voice Actor Yamashita Seiichirou’s Serialized Column “Pen wa Koe yori Tsuyoshi” Becomes a Book! Includes Newly Shot Photos and a Guest Column by Saitou Souma

Voice actor Yamashita Seiichirou’s column “Pen wa Koe yori Tsuyoshi,” which has been serialized in Animedia for about four years since 2020, has now been published as a book. Titled 『撮り下ろしフォト＆コラムブック Croquis ～Yamashita Seiichirou no Pen wa Koe yori Tsuyoshi～』, the book was released on May 21, which is Yamashita-san’s birthday.

2020年から約4年間にわたってアニメディアで連載してきた、声優・山下誠一郎のコラム「ペンは声よりも強し」が書籍化。『撮り下ろしフォト＆コラムブック Croquis ～山下誠一郎のペンは声よりも強し～』として山下の誕生日である5月21日に発売となった。

What’s Inside?

This book fully compiles the “Pen wa Koe yori Tsuyoshi” column that ran for about four years in Animedia. It includes memorable episodes, from elementary school days being swept up in Valentine’s chocolate craze (“Chotto Danshi~! (Outrage!)” section) to behind-the-scenes stories about work, like when he had serious tooth trouble just days before a live performance.

The book also features plenty of newly shot photos with special coordination based on themes Yamashita-san himself decided on, such as “Casual,” “Formal,” and “Sakka” (Writer).

In the “Yamashita Seiichirou o Himotoku 125 no Shitsumon” (125 Questions to Unravel Yamashita Seiichirou) section, Yamashita-san went above and beyond! What was planned as 100 questions unexpectedly increased by 25%, answering a total of 125 questions.

Furthermore, the book includes a contributed column from fellow voice actor Saitou Souma, who is a “senpai” (senior) when it comes to writing, having published essays himself. This luxurious lineup makes for a truly visually stunning and highly readable volume.
