About Kusuriya no Hitorigoto
Based on the popular light novel series by Hyuuga Natsu, published under Hero Bunko, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is a captivating mystery-solving entertainment series set in the intricate world of the rear palace. It follows Maomao, a young girl working as a “poison taster” who finds herself solving various difficult cases, often pushed into the task by the handsome eunuch, Jinshi. The series has also been adapted into two manga versions, serialized in “Monthly Big Gangan” and “Monthly Sunday GX”.
The first season of the TV anime adaptation aired from October 2023, captivating viewers over 24 episodes with its intriguing mysteries and engaging characters. It even received the Special Prize at the “TVer Award 2023”, highlighting its popularity. The highly anticipated second season began airing consecutively for two cours from January 10, 2025.
A Unique Collaboration with Kitou Inori
Now, Maomao and Jinshi, along with other characters, are brought to life in a fresh, artistic style thanks to a collaboration with illustrator Kitou Inori. The collaboration goods feature Kitou-sensei’s distinctive touch, depicting memorable scenes and characters from Kusuriya no Hitorigoto alongside rhythmically arranged floral patterns.
The lineup includes the “Box Pouch” which has a useful gusset and is a nice size, the convenient “Eco Bag” for small shopping trips, and the “Odougu Bako” (trinket box) for storing small items or mementos.
