WIND BREAKER x Megane Ichiba Collaboration Glasses Unveiled!
Get ready, WIND BREAKER fans! It has been announced that collaboration glasses between the TV anime *WIND BREAKER* and Megane Ichiba will go on sale at select Megane Ichiba stores starting June 28, 2025.
About WIND BREAKER
*WIND BREAKER* is an anime based on the yankee manga by Niisato Satoru, which is serialized on “Magazine Pocket,” the official app of “Weekly Shonen Magazine.” The story follows the lonely delinquent high schooler, Sakura Haruka, who arrives at Furin High School, a school notorious for its delinquents, aiming to reach the top of the fighting world. He encounters Bofurin (Boufuurin), a group that now protects the town, and the series depicts his journey fighting and growing as a member of the group.
The manga is a constant chart-topper in the “Magazine Pocket” popularity rankings, with tankobon volumes frequently selling out and requiring immediate reprints, creating significant buzz. The TV anime first aired Season 1 from April to June 2024, and Season 2 started in April 2025, gathering even more attention.
Character Collaboration Models
This collaboration features nine characters in total: seven members of Bofurin and two members from Shishitouren who grew together with them through battles. Each model incorporates the unique personality of these “heroes of the town” into the frame design.
The Sakura Haruka Model is a square type, inspired by Sakura’s strength in staying true to himself. The frame has added roundness to express Sakura’s tsundere personality – prickly on the outside but kind to his nakama on the inside. The temples adopt a matte deep green metal, inspired by the Furin High School uniform, with a sharp shape characteristic of Sakura. Near the outer eye corner on the temples, enamel in different colors is embedded on the left and right sides to represent Sakura’s distinctive eyes. The temple tips feature demi-white on the left and demi-black on the right, not only referencing Sakura’s hair color but also using the pattern of the material to express the emotions Sakura carries. This model captures Sakura’s complex feelings since entering Furin High and his role as the protagonist aiming for the “top.”
The Nirei Akihiko Model is a rounded Wellington type, close to Sakura’s square shape, chosen to represent Nirei as the guide who will lead Sakura, whom he trusts completely, to the “top.” Deep green enamel, inspired by the uniform, is applied around the metal frame. The temples feature gold, referencing Nirei’s hair color, and the shape expresses the glasses chain he wore in his first appearance. Similarly, the temple tips are colored to match the shirt he wore in his first appearance scene. Inside the left temple tip, a metal emblem is embedded with the “secret” mark from Nirei’s constant “secret memo,” and the Furin High School emblem on the outside. This model expresses Nirei’s individuality, particularly his love for fashion accessories, inspired by his memorable first appearance scene.
The Sugishita Kyoutarou Model is an angular Wellington type, inspired by Sugishita’s silent and unfriendly personality. The frame is thick, representing his large and sturdy body and the power to defeat opponents in one blow, with coloring inspired by Sugishita’s hair color and the T-shirt he usually wears under his uniform. The overall frame is finished with a glossy coating, referencing Sugishita’s hair which he treats monthly. The temples feature a core wire engraved with the pattern of tomato leaves, symbolizing the tomatoes Umemiya grows on the rooftop, whom Sugishita deeply respects. A white line, the same as the first-year grade line, is placed on the outer left temple, and a metal emblem with the Furin High School emblem is embedded in the temple tip. This model embodies Sugishita’s formidable physique and power, his weapons, and his loyalty to Umemiya.
The Sufou Hayato Model is a round type, inspired by Sufou, who always smiles and has a gentle demeanor. The intellectual-looking half-rim design expresses Sufou’s duality: kind to his companions but cold to his enemies. Red-brown enamel, Sufou’s hair color, is applied around the metal rim. The metal part of the temples features engraving inspired by his earring tassels. Red enamel, matching Sufou’s eye color and earring, is applied to the left temple, and black enamel, inspired by his eyepatch, is applied to the right, arranged so they are positioned correctly when the glasses are folded, as if facing Sufou head-on. The temple tips are deep green, inspired by the uniform color, with a shape resembling the kung fu shoes Sufou wears. This model captures Sufou’s charming personality and his intelligent, stylish aura.
The Umemiya Hajime Model is a round Boston type, inspired by Umemiya’s generous nature and easygoing personality. The bridge connecting the two lenses is a “keyhole bridge,” representing his role as the So-dai (leader or key man) of Bofurin. The front color is khaki, inspired by the Furin High School uniform and his hobby of gardening, with a metal part embedded in the upper left section, representing the scar on Umemiya’s left eyebrow. The metal part of the temples uses a deep green metal material, inspired by the lining color of his chouran (long school uniform jacket), and is engraved with the pattern of tomato leaves from the tomatoes Umemiya grows on the rooftop. As the So-dai wears a chouran, long temple parts are used, with a yellow line at the tip, mirroring the yellow line on his collar. This model is packed with details representing the So-dai of Bofurin and Umemiya himself, a truly dependable “big brother” model.
The Hiiragi Touma Model is a slightly rounded Wellington type, chosen based on Hiiragi’s nervous and responsible personality, as well as his caring side. The front is made of thin, matte black material, inspired by leather, as Hiiragi prefers tight-fitting clothes and leather pants. Metal parts, inspired by the stomach medicine “Gasukun 10” that Hiiragi always carries, are placed on both sides of the upper front. The silver temples, inspired by the silver accessories Hiiragi likes, represent his distinctive jagged teeth. A white line, the same as the third-year grade line, is on the outer left temple, and a metal emblem with the school emblem is embedded in the temple tip. Yellow lines, matching the collar of the uniform, are on the tips of both temples. This model is a substantial piece expressing Hiiragi’s steady personality as he supports Umemiya as his confidant.
The Kaji Ren Model is a shallow, rounded oval type, creating a cool yet soft impression, expressing Kaji’s clumsy but kind personality. The front color is chosen based on Kaji’s hair color. The design incorporates metal parts at the temple hinges, inspired by the headphones Kaji loves, and the shape of the temple tips resembles the lollipop Kaji often licks. A white line, the same as the second-year grade line, is on the outer metal part of the left temple. The temple tips are made of deep green material, inspired by the uniform color, with a metal emblem embedded in the tip of the left side featuring the Furin High School emblem. This model is easy to wear yet stylish, inspired by Kaji’s personality as a companion who is thoughtful but not very talkative.
The Tojiyama Chouji Model is a Boston type, inspired by Tojiyama’s light movements, innocent personality, and round eyes. The color is pink gold, based on Tojiyama’s hair color, representing his time as a cheerful, sun-like presence. The shape of the eye corners expresses Tojiyama’s unpredictable, tricky movements, and the shape of the temples represents his fighting style, which involves frequent jumping like a rabbit. The matte black, non-glossy part from the front eye corner to the temple connection is inspired by Tojiyama’s eyes, which became more focused on “power.” The temple tips are made of white demi material, representing the sleeves of his sukajan jacket. This model portrays Tojiyama’s light fighting style and the conflict he faced after becoming head of Shishitouren.
The Togame Jou Model is an arrangement of the teardrop shape, made easier to wear, to match Togame’s distinctive gentle eyes and his habit of wearing sunglasses. The frame color is a sturdy gunmetal, based on Togame’s hair color. Metal parts at the temple connection are designed to resemble the geta (Japanese sandals) Togame usually wears. The thick temples, representing his sturdy body and power, use material inspired by the pattern of the samue (work clothes) Togame wears. Lines on the front part of the temples are inspired by the collar of the Shishitouren sukajan jacket. This model is packed with various trademarks of Togame, representing his fighting style of overwhelming opponents with immense power.
