New merchandise featuring the characters from the TV anime Ranma 1/2 is here! Get ready for the adorable “Chapon! Series,” showcasing characters playfully “chapon!” (splashing/dipping) into colorful drinks. This new lineup is themed “Fruit Flavor” and features brand new illustrations, both full-sized and chibi!

Ranma 1/2 is a martial arts romantic comedy manga by Takahashi Rumiko, serialized in “Shuukan Shounen Sunday” from 1987 to 1996. Takahashi Rumiko is also known for hit series like Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, InuYasha, Kyoukai no RINNE, and MAO. The original Ranma 1/2 anime adaptation premiered in 1989, and excitingly, a brand new anime adaptation began airing in October 2024! The new series features the return of key cast members from the 1989 version, including Yamaguchi Kappei as Saotome Ranma, Hayashibara Megumi as Ranma (female), Hidaka Noriko as Tendou Akane, and Sakuma Rei as Shampoo, creating quite a buzz among fans. What’s more, a second season has already been decided!

The story kicks off when Saotome Genma, who was training in China, arrives at the Tendou household with his son, Ranma. However, instead of a typical father and son, a giant panda and a cute girl appear! Through his training in China, Ranma developed a peculiar condition: splashing cold water turns him into a girl, while hot water turns him back into a boy. The series follows Ranma and the eccentric individuals around them as they navigate comical situations, tears, laughter, and occasional romance.

This time, Saotome Ranma, Ranma (female), Tendou Akane, Saotome Genma (in panda form), Hibiki Ryouga, Shampoo, Mousse, and Kuonji Ukyou are newly joining the “Chapon! Series” lineup.

For this collection, with the theme “Fruit Flavor,” original goods featuring both full-sized illustrations and chibi-style illustrations have been prepared.

Items such as the “Acrylic Stand,” “Design Acrylic Stand,” and “Acrylic Keychain” use the full-sized illustrations of Ranma (female), Tendou Akane, and Shampoo. Dressed in fruity-patterned Chinese-style outfits and dipping into fruity drinks, the three look very cute, showcasing their lovely curves.

The full-sized illustrations of Ranma, Akane, and Shampoo are used on items including “Tote Bags,” “Mini Drawstring Pouches,” “Acrylic Blocks,” and “Acrylic Dioramas.”

Items featuring the chibi illustrations include the “Chibi Character Acrylic Stands,” “Trading Chibi Character Acrylic Keychains,” “Trading Stickers,” and “Trading Can Badges.” Some items, such as “Clear Files,” feature both full-sized and chibi illustrations.

There is also a “Scarf” depicting Saotome Genma in his panda form, P-chan, and Shampoo in her cat form.

Each item is currently available for pre-order on the Team Entertainment EC Site “Team Store” and other goods/hobby shops nationwide. The scheduled release is late August.
