About ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ / About the Seven-Night Special Broadcast Commemorating the Release of ‘Gekijouban Mugenjou-hen’
“Kimetsu no Yaiba” is an anime based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, which was serialized in Shueisha’s “Jump Comics” and has sold over 150 million copies across 23 volumes. The story follows Kamado Tanjiro, a young boy whose family is slaughtered by demons. His sister, Nezuko, is turned into a demon, and Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn her back into a human and fight against the demons. Its poignant story of humans and demons, intense sword fights, appealing characters, and occasional comical scenes have made it hugely popular.
ufotable, the studio behind the animation, began the series in April 2019 with “TV Anime ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Kamado Tanjiro Risshi-hen”. Following “TV Anime ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Hashira Geiko-hen”, which aired from May 2024, the next story arc, “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugenjou-hen”, is being produced as a trilogy, with the first chapter set for release on July 18, 2025. The story unfolds in the demon’s stronghold, the “Mugenjou” (Infinity Castle), where Tanjiro and his comrades land, marking the beginning of the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons.
The broadcast project titled “Gekijouban ‘Mugenjou-hen’ Koukai Kinen! ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Zen Nanaya Tokubetsu Housou” is held to commemorate the release of the first chapter of “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugenjou-hen”. It will broadcast the story from the “Mugen Ressha-hen” to the “Hashira Geiko-hen” arcs on the Fuji TV network over seven consecutive days.
A highlight of each broadcast will be newly drawn ending illustrations, in addition to special videos that revisit the story from each character’s perspective with newly recorded voices, building anticipation for the “Mugenjou-hen” release.
About ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen’
The first night, “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen Tokubetsu Housou,” presents “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen.” This arc depicts the battle aboard the “Mugen Ressha” (Infinite Train), the next mission for Tanjiro and his friends after completing their training at the Butterfly Mansion, where over forty people have gone missing in a short span of time.
Tanjiro, accompanied by Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, converges with Rengoku Kyoujurou, one of the “Hashira” (Pillars), the most powerful swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps. Together, they confront a demon lurking within the Infinite Train as it races through the darkness.
This work was initially released as “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugen Ressha-hen” in October 2020. It achieved historical box office success, surpassing 10 billion yen in just 10 days, the fastest record ever. On the 73rd day of its release, it overtook “Spirited Away” to become Japan’s highest-grossing film of all time, ultimately exceeding 40 billion yen domestically, a first in Japanese cinema history.
Later, starting in October 2021, it was also broadcast as “TV Anime ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugen Ressha-hen,” including a completely new first episode detailing Rengoku’s mission en route to the Infinite Train after leaving the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters.
Furthermore, as part of “Kimetsu Theater – ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Special Edited Version Theatrical Screening -” currently running since April this year, which features theatrical screenings of special edited versions from “Kamado Tanjiro Risshi-hen” to “Hashira Geiko-hen,” a revival screening of “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugen Ressha-hen” was held from May 9 to June 12.

As the second round of theater attendance gifts for the revival screening of “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugen Ressha-hen,” it has been announced that “Rengoku Reikan – Revival -” will be distributed starting May 17, 2025. Furthermore, support screenings will be held at six theaters nationwide on May 18. To commemorate this, a “Support Screening Guide Video” and goods information have also been released. Please note that the next episode preview part of the TV anime’s first episode will not be broadcast. The movie version will be shown completely uncut.
Many Goods to Enjoy the “Mugen Ressha-hen” Arc Available
Beyond the aforementioned revival screening, the “Mugen Ressha-hen” arc continues to be popular, recently highlighted by a non-scale figure of Rengoku based on the end credit illustration and the second phase of a collaboration with Kakiyasu Honten, offering the “Kuroge Wagyuu Mugen Gyunabe Bentou,” reminiscent of the bento Rengoku ate in the movie.
Rengoku Kyoujurou is one of the “Hashira,” the mainstays of the Demon Slayer Corps. He is the Flame Hashira, using “Flame Breathing” to annihilate demons. He is a character with a cheerful and straightforward way of speaking.
The “Kimetsu no Yaiba: En Bashira Rengoku Kyoujurou Non-Scale Figure” is based on the popular 1/4 scale figure. It meticulously recreates Rengoku’s soft expression as he gazes gently at his Kasugai Garasu perched on his left shoulder. This is a perfect chance to acquire a figure at a more accessible price and size.

The collaboration between this work and Kakiyasu Honten was incredibly well-received in its first phase. For this second phase, similar to the last, two patterns of limited edition wrapping paper featuring large illustrations of the Flame Hashira, Rengoku Kyoujurou, are available. The “Kuroge Wagyuu Mugen Gyunabe Bentou” is the same as before, offering a satisfying bento that provides the full experience of eating a beef hot pot, embodying the commitment to flavor from a meat shop with over 150 years of history.
Furthermore, with the purchase of one bento, one of five types of “Original Clear Files (A4 size)” is included randomly. Enjoy this bento, which you might want to eat infinitely, perhaps chatting about which clear file you received, alongside the release of “Gekijouban ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’ Mugenjou-hen” Chapter 1 on July 18.

Take this opportunity to experience this work once again through the television broadcast.
