This beloved series, also known in English as *The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior*, is set to continue its captivating tale.

To celebrate the exciting announcement, a special commemorative illustration drawn by the original character designer, **Suzunosuke**, was also revealed.

Looking Back at the First Season

The first season of **Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu.** premiered in July 2023. Produced by the animation studio **OLM**, it brought the vibrant world and characters to life on screen. For international viewers, Sentai Filmworks licensed the series and provided a simulcast on HIDIVE, offering both subtitled and English dubbed versions.

Exploring the Source Material

The anime is based on the popular fantasy romance novel series penned by **Tenichi**. The journey of this story began back in April 2018 when **Tenichi** started writing it on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website. Japanese publisher Ichijinsha later picked up the series, publishing it under their Iris Neo label starting in June 2019 with illustrations by **Suzunosuke**. The tenth volume of the light novel was released on April 2, and the eleventh volume is expected to hit shelves on July 2.

The series also inspired manga adaptations. The first manga adaptation, illustrated by **Bunko Matsuura**, began serialization on Zero-Sum Online in March 2019. Unfortunately, this adaptation concluded last October due to the mangaka’s health issues, with the third and final volume shipping in January 2022.

A new manga adaptation then took over, with art by **Akiko Kawano**, starting its run on Zero-Sum Online in June 2023. The second volume of this ongoing adaptation was released on January 31.

For readers outside Japan, Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the original light novel and the first manga adaptation for English release in June 2021. The eighth volume of the English light novel came out on February 25, while the ninth is slated for September 23. The third and final volume of the first manga adaptation’s English release shipped in February 2023.
