BS12 TwellV has announced the November 2026 lineup for its Sunday Anime Theater, a nationwide free broadcast block. Four anime films are set to air every Sunday at 7:00 p.m.: Genma Taisen, GHOST IN THE SHELL / Koukaku Kidoutai 4K Remaster, Innocence, and Soukou Kihei Votoms: Pailsen Files Gekijouban.

Genma Taisen — November 1
Genma Taisen is known as the film where Otomo Katsuhiro, the creator of AKIRA, which helped bring Japanimation to the world, made his first film attempt as a character designer. Based on a novel by Hirai Kazumasa, it depicts a battle between the destructive Genma invaders aiming to conquer Earth and a group of psychic warriors. It was a landmark first Otomo anime work and the first Kadokawa theatrical anime, and it will air in a digital remastered version.
Luna, a princess of Transylvania and an esper, decides to begin a fight to protect Earth from the Genma, who plot world conquest, alongside the cosmic consciousness Floy and the cyborg soldier Vega. Luna plans to gather psychics from around the world to oppose the Genma. Meanwhile, Azuma Jo, a Japanese high school student, has his previously unknown psychic powers awakened by Vega’s provocation, and a Genma appears before him.
GHOST IN THE SHELL / Koukaku Kidoutai 4K Remaster — November 8
GHOST IN THE SHELL / Koukaku Kidoutai 4K Remaster is one of two anime films directed by Oshii Mamoru and based on Shirow Masamune’s sci-fi manga Koukaku Kidoutai, which has also just received a new TV anime adaptation by Science SARU. Set in 2029, in a highly networked society, the story centers on Kusanagi Motoko and Batou of Public Security Section 9, an unofficial, extra-legal special unit formed to counter computer crimes and cyber terrorism.

In 2029, to counter increasingly advanced and violent crimes that keep pace with the growth of information networks, the elite cyborg special unit Public Security Section 9, known as Koukaku Kidoutai, is established. Its leader, full-body cyborg Kusanagi Motoko, begins an investigation into an unidentified internationally wanted hacker known as the Puppet Master.
Innocence — November 15
Innocence is the other anime film directed by Oshii Mamoru and based on Shirow Masamune’s original work. A sequel set in 2032, three years after GHOST IN THE SHELL / Koukaku Kidoutai, it focuses on Batou of Public Security Section 9. It is also known as the first Japanese animation ever selected for the competition section of the 57th Cannes Film Festival.

Batou, a detective of Public Security Section 9 who is a living doll, or cyborg, has only a small amount of brain left and the memory of one woman, Motoko. One day, a girl-type companion robot goes berserk and brutally murders its owner. Batou investigates with his partner Togusa, using the cyber network while struggling against interference from a mysterious hacker attacking his own brain, and gets closer to the truth of the case.
Soukou Kihei Votoms: Pailsen Files Gekijouban — November 22
Soukou Kihei Votoms: Pailsen Files Gekijouban is a theatrical film depicting the prequel to the TV series Soukou Kihei Votoms, which aired in the 1980s and became a cornerstone of battlefield robot anime. With the all-new series entry Soukou Kihei Votoms: Haiiro no Majo (Hexe) scheduled for release on November 20, this film will receive its first free TV broadcast.

The top-secret document Pailsen Files contains the secret of a special gene, or immortality, known as the unusual survival body. Fedok Wokkam, information vice-minister of the Gilgamesh military, takes notice and sends the five people named in the file—Kiriko, Barkov, Godan, Zaki, and Kochak—into harsh battlefields like guinea pigs. As a hundred-year war approaches its end, a major operation to decide victory between the two armies is about to be carried out. At the center of the campaign to capture Planet Monad are the five unusual survival bodies.
