“Ichijooma Mankitsu Gurashi!” TV Anime Adaptation Decided! A “Chotto Sexy Manga Kissa Comedy” serialized in “Kirara”
It has been announced that the manga Ichijooma Mankitsu Gurashi!, currently serialized in Houbunsha’s “Manga Time Kirara,” is getting a TV anime adaptation. Accompanying this exciting news, original author Hisama Kumako has sent over a celebratory comment and illustration.
Ichijooma Mankitsu Gurashi!, created by Hisama Kumako, is a “chotto sexy manga kissa comedy” serialized in Houbunsha’s “Manga Time Kirara.” The story kicks off when Morita Meiko, a girl from the countryside, moves to Tokyo to attend a prestigious girls’ school. To cover her tuition, she accepts a condition: living and working at a manga cafe that also serves as a girls’ dormitory, participating in “service activities.”
The series depicts the daily life at the manga kissa starring cute JK (joshi kousei) staff members, including Meiko, the dorm leader and manager Amamiya Rie at “Heddehogg” manga cafe, the super popular streamer Suzuki Marika, and Nakano Neo, who has a cute appearance but is a hardcore gamer at heart. The latest volume, Volume 4, is set to be released on July 26, 2025.
