Celebrate “Idol Copy Dance Day” with Anime!
September 26th marks “Idol Copy Dance Day” in Japan, a special occasion established to commemorate the first “UNIDOL” idol copy dance event held on this day back in 2012. It’s a day to appreciate the energy and dedication that goes into replicating iconic idol performances!
The Dynamic Role of Dance in Anime OPs and EDs
Just as in the world of idol performances, dance plays an incredibly vital role in anime, often being the driving force that electrifies a series. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the opening (OP) and ending (ED) sequences, which serve as the very face of an anime. These dynamic segments frequently feature captivating dance choreography that leaves a lasting impression on viewers.
Even in the current Summer 2025 anime season, we’re seeing an abundance of memorable dance-focused OPs and EDs. Titles like Dandadan, Osomatsu-san, and Food Court de, Mata Ashita. are delighting audiences with their rhythm and flair, setting the tone for each episode or providing a delightful send-off.
