An Update Arrives for Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan 2: Kibutsuji Muzan Joins the Battle!
Exciting news for fans of the home console game Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan 2! A free update is set to be distributed on September 18, 2025, bringing the formidable Kibutsuji Muzan, the progenitor of all oni, into the game’s “Versus Mode” for thrilling player-versus-player action. Fans will finally be able to command Muzan, echoing his chilling command: “Bow your heads and cower. Prostrate yourselves!”
Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga by Gotouge Koyoharu, serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump.” It tells the story of Kamado Tanjiro, a boy whose family was murdered by an oni, and whose younger sister, Nezuko, was transformed into one. Tanjiro battles to return Nezuko to human form. The TV anime adaptation began broadcasting in April 2019. In July 2025, the movie Gekijouban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjo-hen Dai Issho Akaza Sairai (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie – Mugen Castle Arc Chapter One: Akaza’s Return) was released, becoming a huge hit with box office revenues exceeding 30 billion yen.
Kibutsuji Muzan Unleashed!
Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan 2, the battle action game, was released on August 1, 2025. On September 18, a free update will be implemented, making Kibutsuji Muzan, the progenitor of all oni, playable in “Versus Mode.” Alongside this announcement, a character introduction video for Kibutsuji Muzan was also released.
Expand Your Roster with the Mugenjo-hen Dai Issho Character Pass
Characters to be added via the paid downloadable content “Mugenjo-hen Dai Issho Character Pass” have also been revealed. Seven characters will be distributed as playable characters:
