This special project celebrates Yamadera-san’s 40th anniversary since his debut, and reservations are currently open at the official online shop of his agency, Across Entertainment.

Introducing Koichi Yamadera EYEWEAR: A Vision of Style

The “Koichi Yamadera EYEWEAR” collection was created with a clear vision: to design “high-quality sunglasses (and optical frames) that Yamadera Kouichi would want to wear every day.” Yabushita, known for its extensive collaborations with various anime and film projects, worked closely with Yamadera-san through numerous meetings, handling everything from design to manufacturing to create this completely original model.

Sophisticated Design and Comfortable Fit

The frames thoughtfully incorporate Yamadera Kouichi’s signature style: a square-shaped plastic frame. However, the design was meticulously crafted from scratch, resulting in a refined and elegant look. They feature a sophisticated “gray sasa” fabric, which offers a subtle transparency and blends beautifully with any skin tone. A discreet “Y” for Yamadera is subtly integrated into the metal hinges connecting the front and temples. Furthermore, the inside of the temples is embossed with “Koichi Yamadera EYEWEAR,” with the “Y” and “WEAR” highlighted in red – a clever detail suggested by Yamadera-san himself.

For optimal comfort, beta-titanium, known for its flexible spring properties, is used in the parts connecting the front and temples, ensuring a comfortable and snug fit. At the end of the temple tips, a metal component shaped like the kanji “Yama” (山) from Yamadera’s name has been placed. This detail not only adds a personal touch but also helps balance the weight with the front frame. The lenses come standard with UV-cut properties, boasting a UV transmittance rate of less than 0.1%. Their light gray tint provides a calm and sophisticated impression. For those who require prescription lenses, the standard lenses can be replaced at an optical store.
