About Haikyuu!!
Haikyuu!! is a monumental sports manga by Furudate Haruichi that captivated audiences with its intense and heartfelt coming-of-age drama about high school students passionately dedicated to volleyball. Serialized in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump” for eight and a half years starting in February 2012, the manga has sold over 70 million copies in total.
The anime adaptation, which began in 2014, has produced and broadcast four seasons up to December 2020, thrilling and moving anime fans both domestically and internationally, not just those who read the original manga.
The highly anticipated film, Gekijouban Haikyuu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen (Haikyuu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump), released in February 2024, depicted the thrilling showdown and emotional drama between Karasuno Koukou and their fated rivals, Nekoma Koukou. It became a massive box office hit, grossing over 20 billion yen worldwide.
