“Tebukuro” Characters: Who Comes to Mind? Survey Closes October 20! [#TebukuroNoHi]
Anime!Anime! is conducting a reader survey titled “Who are your favorite ‘gloved’ characters?” for the first time in three years. The deadline is October 20th.

October 29th is designated as “Tebukuro no Hi,” or “Gloves Day.”
This day’s charming name comes from a goroawase, a Japanese wordplay, where “te” (10), “buku” (2), and “ro” (9) phonetically combine to sound like “tebukuro” (gloves).
The Significance of Gloves in Anime and Manga
As the weather cools and chilly days approach, gloves become a powerful and reassuring companion, keeping our hands warm and protected. Naturally, characters who regularly sport gloves are a frequent sight across anime, games, and various forms of two-dimensional entertainment. These gloves can be cherished gifts from loved ones, mystical items that seal away hidden powers, or perhaps they simply serve as a stylish accent that highlights their unique personality. Indeed, the stories behind a character’s gloves are as diverse and numerous as the characters themselves.

With that in mind, Anime!Anime! is excited to announce the return of our reader survey, held for the first time in three years, titled “Who are your favorite ‘Gloved’ Characters?” We invite you to freely share which characters and works come to mind when you think of this theme.

- This survey is open to characters appearing in 2D content, including anime (TV broadcasts, movies, streaming, OVAs, etc.), games, CD series, and manga.
- Kindly limit your response to one entry per person.
- Basic information such as gender and age are optional, and you are welcome to participate without providing them. We encourage everyone to join in the fun!
The deadline for submissions is October 20th. We will publish the results as soon as they are compiled, so please look forward to it!
