October 31st marks Halloween, a time for spooky fun and exciting transformations! As the air gets crisp and autumn colors take over, Japan is already gearing up for some grand celebrations.
From October 24th to 26th, the highly anticipated “Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Fes 2025” is set to dazzle attendees. This vibrant event will also feature the “Ikeharo Cosplay Parade” on October 25th, where approximately 400 cosplayers will parade through the bustling streets of Ikebukuro, showcasing their incredible outfits and bringing characters to life.
One of the most exciting aspects of Halloween in Japan is the tradition of not just dressing up as ghosts and monsters, but also donning the costumes of beloved anime characters. It’s a fantastic opportunity to transform into your favorite hero, heroine, or even a quirky villain! Following last year’s overwhelming response, Anime!Anime! is once again conducting a special reader survey titled “Which character would you like to cosplay for Halloween?” This is your chance to share your dream Halloween transformation!
We invite you to participate in this free-response survey. Please tell us the character’s name and the title of the work they appear in. We’re looking for suggestions for both male and female characters, so think broadly across your favorite series!

- This survey is open to characters from two-dimensional content, including anime (TV broadcasts, movies, streaming, OVA, etc.), games, CD series, and manga.
- Each person is kindly asked to submit one response only.
- Basic information such as gender and age are optional fields, and you are welcome to leave them unanswered. Everyone is encouraged to participate!
The deadline for submissions is October 21st. We will publish the results as soon as they are compiled, so stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting reveal!
