This film has garnered significant attention as Director Kawamori Shouji’s inaugural original theatrical feature-length anime, making it a truly awaited spectacle for anime fans. Adding to the excitement, the film also marks the voice acting debut of SUZUKA, the main vocalist of the globally popular “Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders” (also known as “ATARASHII GAKKO!”), who is currently captivating Generation Z. Joining her in a voice acting premiere is Teranishi Takuto, who recently joined “timelesz” through the 2025 “timelesz project -AUDITION-“.

The story follows Maeza Shiori, a shy high school girl. Due to a video she recorded with her close companion Kirara, Shiori finds herself trapped in a mysterious world that unfolds within her smartphone.

Appearing before Shiori is Komori, a talking rabbit-shaped stamp. As Shiori feels utterly lost, a young genius entrepreneur, Kagami Suguru, extends a helping hand, declaring, “You’ve been trapped in this <Labyrinth>.” Kagami then promises Shiori that he will “help her reclaim her true self.”

Meanwhile, in the real world, another “SHIORI” – dressed in flashy attire – has switched places with Maeza Shiori, using social media to behave freely and wildly. Her ultimate goal is to completely impersonate the real Shiori.

Kagami also makes contact with this other SHIORI, whispering a “certain plan” to her. The narrative promises to unfold as Kagami’s true intentions and SHIORI’s ambitions eventually ignite a commotion that threatens to engulf the entire world.

Glimpses into the Labyrinth: Scene Photos Unveiled

The newly released scene photos reveal various intense moments: Maeza Shiori is seen desperately running, pursued by something in the alternate world, and confronting or struggling with the rabbit-shaped stamp, Komori. In stark contrast, the “other SHIORI” is depicted in a hotel room with Kagami, holding up a mobile phone with a brightly lit Ferris wheel in the background, seemingly preparing for something. She also appears triumphant in front of numerous screens, showcasing her wild antics in the real world.

Furthermore, the images shed light on other characters, including Kagami Suguru with a fearless smirk, Kirara flashing an innocent smile and a “thumbs up” pose, and Yamada Kento desperately talking on the phone with someone. The most intriguing revelation, however, is the sight of two robots battling in a Yokohama landscape filled with shattered smartphones, leaving viewers eager to discover their true identities.

With the release of these captivating scene photos, the full scope of Director Kawamori’s first original theatrical feature-length animation is steadily coming into view. As one of the most anticipated titles for 2026, we eagerly await further updates on this exciting project.

Director Kawamori Shouji’s first original theatrical feature animation, Meikyuu no Shiori, is slated for release on January 1, 2026 (Thursday/New Year’s Day).
