About the “Everyday Host” Series
Everyday Host (which can be translated as “Everyday Host”) is a delightful 4-panel web manga by original creator gotou nimo, which began its serialization in 2020 on Pixiv, Nico Nico Seiga, and personal websites. The story is set in “Club One,” a host club that prides itself on its “at-home” atmosphere, located just a short distance from the glittering lights of Shinjuku. This slice-of-life gag comedy vividly portrays the wild and unconventional lives of those who thrive in the host club industry.
The protagonist, Sekiguchi (who later becomes Hajime), found himself mentally exhausted after various workplace incidents. Enticed by a job flyer that boldly proclaimed “An at-home workplace! (^o^),” he decided to switch careers and joined Club One. What he found there was a cast of unique and eccentric hosts: a younger-brother type host with over 20 years of experience, a former idol specializing in romantic charm, and an aggressive host addicted to social games. Initially convinced that he was completely unsuited for the host life, Hajime gradually found himself growing comfortable as he was swept up in the hosts’ antics. The manga beautifully illustrates his journey of adapting to this extraordinary new environment.
