Fans of the popular manga Kimetsu no Yaiba, get ready! The sixth stage adaptation in the series, titled “Butai Kimetsu no Yaiba Sono Roku Hashira Geiko,” is officially set to hit the stage in Tokyo in June 2026. This exciting news was revealed in the December 1, 2025 issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump. Portraying the determined protagonist Kamado Tanjirou will be a W-cast featuring Sakamoto Shougo and Takahashi Fuu.
The Ever-Popular World of Kimetsu no Yaiba
Kimetsu no Yaiba, created by Gotouge Koyoharu, captivated readers in Weekly Shounen Jump from its 2016 11th issue to its 2020 24th issue. The poignant story follows Kamado Tanjirou, a young boy whose family is tragically murdered by demons. His quest begins as he joins the Demon Slayer Corps (Kisatsutai) to fight against demons and find a way to return his younger sister, Nezuko, who was turned into a demon, back to her human form. The manga’s blend of heartbreaking human-demon tales, intense sword fights, and occasionally comical characters quickly garnered immense popularity. With all 23 volumes in circulation, the series has surpassed a cumulative total of 220 million copies sold. Even after its conclusion, the series continues to draw attention and stands out as a beloved work across all generations. The anime series, animated by the renowned ufotable, is currently captivating audiences with Gekijouban Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugenjou-hen Dai Isshou Akaza Sairai, which premiered in July.
A Stage Legacy: The Butai Kimetsu no Yaiba Series
The stage adaptations of Kimetsu no Yaiba have been thrilling audiences since the first production in 2020. This successful series has seen subsequent installments in 2021 (second), 2022 (third), 2023 (fourth), and 2025 (fifth), each bringing the beloved manga to life on stage.
“Butai Kimetsu no Yaiba Sono Roku Hashira Geiko” – The Pillar Training Arc Unfolds!
The newly announced “Butai Kimetsu no Yaiba Sono Roku Hashira Geiko” marks the sixth installment in this highly anticipated stage series. Motoyoshi Tsunehiro, who helmed the previous production, returns to manage both the script and direction, while Wada Shunsuke is once again in charge of the music. This production will depict the “Hashira Geiko” (Pillar Training) arc. Following their fierce battle in the Swordsmith Village, Tanjirou and his companions must prepare for the ultimate confrontation against their sworn enemy, Kibutsuji Muzan. To do so, they undergo rigorous training under the guidance of the Hashira, the Demon Slayer Corps’ most powerful swordsmen.
Meet the Cast: Kamado Tanjirou’s Dual Portrayal
For the leading role of Kamado Tanjirou, Sakamoto Shougo will be reprising his role. Sakamoto-san has built a solid reputation as an actor, starring in numerous stage plays and musicals such as Musical Touken Ranbu and Engeki Chouitan xxxHOLiC. Beyond his acting prowess, he also shines as a singer-songwriter.
Joining as the other half of the W-cast for Tanjirou is Takahashi Fuu, one of the most exciting actors garnering significant attention today. Takahashi-san is not only active as part of the dance vocal unit “WATWING” but has also taken on starring roles in musicals like Musical Jamie and Musical Atom.

I am truly delighted to be able to stand on stage as Tanjirou once again from the bottom of my heart. During the previous performance, I was unable to perform due to an injury, but the entire company connected their feelings and truly supported me. With that gratitude in my heart, I want to express Tanjirou’s strength and kindness—how he overcomes struggles and conflicts while looking straight ahead—with my whole being.

I am really looking forward to standing before everyone as Tanjirou. On a stage different from my usual, I will express myself and the character with all my strength, performing with all my heart. In other news, it has been announced that Takahashi Fuu will also be appearing on the talk stage at the Nelke Planning booth during “Jump Festa 2026,” held on December 20th at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.
